• Nissan Mrica automatic - High pitched whine in engine 15 Oct 2010 (Forum)
  My Nissan Micra 1.3SLX 16 valve has developed a high pitched whine in the engine.   A mechanic seems to think it is a dry bearing either the water pump or the power steering, but having oiled and/or greased all the parts it hasn't made any difference.

  Hi there, basically I have an L-reg Nissan D21 pickup. Yes I know its old, but its in good nick and its not done silly milage (about 130k). Now the engine runs sweet, it sounds fine and there is no black smoke or any signs of mechanical upset.

  OK, so I'm still trying to decide what sort of low running cost car to move to, and the Nissan Note is still on my list, just, after the lack of response to my question about spare wheels led to a further visit to the dealer to measure. He and I decided that a proper spare won't fit. What a crass design decision.

  Hi can anyone help , i have a Nissan terrano 2.7 se touring 1999 i was traveling down the motorway when i started to loose power could not get over 2500 revs . My local garage tested and replace the mass air sensor however when picking it up i still had no power.

  When I press the accelerator on my nissan sunny 1.4L (auto 1994) the car does not move from a stationary position even though i can see the rev counter and hear the engine reving up.It will start moving very slowly after 3 or 4 attemps at pressing the throttle and this sometimes cause the car to switch off. once the car has picked up speed, I can drive it and feel the gears changing normally.

  My brakes are seized (1988 Nissan Micra 1.0 Automatic) Car has been sitting off road for nearly 5 months, regularly used before then. Engine is not a runner as I'm changing headgasket & haven't finished. I need to move the car in next few days.

  We had a chat about reliable, everyday softops, and our considered opinion was that the MX5 and Honda S2000 were the best. In third place (on looks alone) was the Nissan 350Z which he had no experience of. Has anyone in the BR ever owned, or know of anyone who has first hand experience? Just an idle thought because my fiance and I hanker after a softop...we have both owned Spitfire's in past lives, and I had an Elise as everyday transport for 3 years.The latter would not really be practical for touring holidays.

  When I took my new car for its first service, I had the service manual - ready with all the tick boxes and took it to the dealership (Nissan) for its first one. I was somewhat surprised and a little disappointed that the dealer stamp went into the book and nothing else. I'd expected much more for the cost paid. I've now had 4 services - all at different garages and had (foolishly) expected the boxes to be ticked and more besides.

  I had a problem when trying to unlock my car today - the remote will still lock the car but not unlock - so visited the Nissan dealer, who said I needed a new fob at £179.99. I still have the spare key, so will use that in the meantime. I see I can buy a another fob on ebay for between £10 and £28 plus postage and have found a site which gives instructions for programming.

  A garage local to me is selling a Qx. Its the 3ltr SEL Auto on an N plate. Has anyone any experience of the big Nissan? Anything in particular i should look for please? Its done 102k but is in mint condition with all the toys working. Its up at £1000. I took it out for a spin yesterday and its the most comfortable car i've driven.

  hello, can anyone please help.i have a 2003 t-spec primera,one of the exenon bulbs went,so i thought,bought new bulb £103 plus vat,found out then it was not the bulb that was faulty.but it was the discharge unit.got in touch with nissan,they told me i could not buy the discharge unit separetly,but had to but the whole lighting unit,i thought this was unbileavable,theres nothing wrong with the lighting unit,thats all is faulty is the discharge unit,does anyone no if there is somewhere where you can just buy the discharge unit.

  Went to look at a V reg Nissan Primera yesterday. It was a 2L auto. Very good condition and very nice to drive. However, because I got there just after 3pm by the time I had a good look around it it was dark when I took it for a drive.

  In low revs in 3rd or 4th gear the engine pulls back similar sensation to the rev limiter cutting if you have over revved it. I have been in touch with the Nissan agent and as usual in these circs they want the vehicle to be doing the problem all the time before they will replace the offending part under warranty. They think and so do I that the problems is the diesel air mass filter having had a similar problem previously with my previous Tino but the agent will not change it even although it is a cheap item.

  My 2000 Nissan Almera 1.5 had it's engine management light pop up the other day. So I pulled in at the side and rang the AA. The chap pulled up the engine diagnostics and it turned out to be an emissions oxygen sensor for the catalytic converter ( I think).

  right, i've got a 1993 nissan serena sgx 2.0 petrol with a 5 speed manual gearbox. my problem may be 2 fold but i'm not sure. firstly i'm having trouble getting it into gear when the engine is first started. after about 10 minutes the gearbox is still very notchy but it does go in not sure if its a clutch or gearbox problem. the clutch does not slip at all but the clutch pedal is very low. we've replaced the slave cylinder and while it is/was slightly better the problem is still there, we've also checked the oil in the gearbox which is ok.

  As per my other post, I am shortly going to buy a new smaller car. I currently have a 1998 Nissan QX 2.0 Auto that I will need to sell. The car has only done 49,000 and it has been probably the best car that i have owned in 30 years of motoring! It is genuinely in showroom condition, not a mark on it inside or out, and has never given me the slightest problem and drives like new - in fact if I had the room I would keep it.

  I recently suffered cam chain failure on a three year and 8 day old Nissan Navara. I made a few inquiries and was aware that there was an isue with the cam chain, I appealed to Nissan customer car and was left with a £1400 bill. I know find out that Nisan new they had a cam chain guide mounting problem, the mounting bolt holes are failing and this leads to either catastrophic failure or the chain guide prematurly wearing out.

  My van is a 54 plate Nissan Primastar, or as RF says is a rebadged Renault Trafic DCi100 with 3500 miles on the clock. Today a funny thing happened. I had finished a job and was loading up my tools and squeezed in the rubbish to dispose of, consisting of 5 bags full of rubble and a bath.
• Nissan X-Trail rear bumper protection 16 Apr 2004 (Forum)
  When I got the car I had a black plastic film applied to the rear bumper to protect it from damage from the dog's claws amongst other things. I didn't think Nissan's own protector accessory was up to the job as it didn't cover the edge of the bumper. Needless to say I managed to drop a wheel clamp on the bumper a few weeks back and its gouged a little chunk out of said bumper.
