  • Ford Probe Cooling fan 8 Jul 2003 (Forum)
I need to replace the electric motor for the engine cooling fan on a L reg 2 litre Ford Probe. Does anyone know if any other Mazdas or Fords use the same motor, a new one being over £300? The motor that I have removed is made by Siemens and has the codes "FTS 1017Q", "33332" and "FS15-150 Canada" on it. I'm sure breakers will not charge as much for a "Mazda" fan as they will for a "Ford Probe" fan.
  • Mondeo v Passat v Vectra 12 Apr 2003 (Forum)
The wife is likely to take a job where the Company Car would have to be either a Passat, Vectra or Mondeo and very likely of the diesel persuasion. The one she'd prefer is the Mazda 6.... which is slightly incompatible with the list!! (but she'll be 'discussing' this in an attempt to change things) Assuming the Mazda remains out of reach what are the opinions/experiences you have of these cars.
  • Contenders vs Hyundai Santa Fe 12 Feb 2003 (Forum)
I am thinking of buying a Hyundai 2.4 Santa Fe, I've looked at various options but, apart from the excellent Mazda Tribute, I haven't found a real alternative for less than £17,000. Have I missed something ? What is the best SUV/4 by 4 for that sort of prices according to you, trouble is I've read some conflicting opinions on the santa fe, none on the Mazda Tribute (though misteriously unknown car in the UK as it seems, why ?)
  • Mazda 5 - Mazda 5 - 2008 - D I E S E L ! losing power 23 Oct 2019 (Forum)
I checked all the likely candidates for lost power such as boost pipes etc but found nothing untoward. A bit of digging on line returned a-lot of horror stories about the Mazda MZR-CD RF Turbo engine but I tried to stay upbeat and started leaning towards an SCV issue......which is kind of what I am asking. In your opinion, would a faulty/failing SCV be a likely candidate in the following scenario:   -   intermittent lost power (wife advised it almost felt like there was no boost) -   intermittent juddering (wife advised it was like a petrol car off a cylinder) -   no engine light or fault code ( i checked with 2 separate systems)   I have also learnt that the EGR could be a factor so I am hoping to strip that tonight and clean out as much as I can, a cursory glance last night showed that it was not blocked though...built up, yes...but not blocked.
  • Mazda - Main dealer taking the michael? 25 Dec 2009 (Forum)
I have made no contact with the dealer yet but what with Christmas fast approaching, will contact him tomorrow. For info, the purchase was a proper retail sale, around book price with a full Mazda warranty. Have just had another look at the new MOT, the issuing station was some 80 miles away....why? The Mazda dealer is well within the M25 so no shortage of MOT stations nearby. Any thoughts on this?
  • Mazda 6 - Diesel Particulate Filter Issues [Mazda 6] 4 Sep 2015 (Forum)
As a consequence he’s offered me his 2006 Mazda 6 TS 2.0 Estate. It’s done around 110k miles, but otherwise seems pretty sound (fully serviced, and has never failed an MOT). He’s asking for £1,200 which seems pretty reasonable to me.
  • Mazda 6 TS TD 143 - Major problems with my used car, my rights? 14 May 2012 (Forum)
Eventually it went back to Mazda and on Friday I was told that there was an issue with the flywheel and the gearbox will have to be removed to find out if this is true but there is no certainty about whether this will fix the issue.
  • Mazda Mazda 6 (2002 - 2007) - 07 2.0 Loss of power, DPF flashes,TCS on, MAF sens 17 Jan 2012 (Forum)
I've had my Mazda 6 2.0 TS2 for 11 months and everything was running great. Then suddenly on a trip home while in 6th gear I started to slow down on a hill. As I was on Cruise Control - took it off immediately and tried to throttle up - foot flat to the floor - nothing!
  • mazda 6 diesel 2000cc sport diesel - mazda 6 2008 2000cc diesel noisey engine 13 Aug 2014 (Forum)
mazda 6 sport 2008 2000cc diesel. Bought the car to save money on fuel and traded in a Civic type r 2007 which I had no probs with. Bought it mainly on looks and based on road tests and crucially for more MPG yes what a fool I am!!!!!
  • Mazda MX-5 - Owner's Diary 2 Oct 2013 (Forum)
Costs: I got it for under my budget and didn't px/ my Mazda 6, which I will sell myself.  VED is £195 so it's cheaper than the Mazda 6 and I only had to add about £40 to top up my insurance.  I seem to be on course for 40mpg which I am really pleased with, considering the type of car (I never bought it for economy to be fair).
  • Mazda MX5 RF - Back problems 11 May 2022 (Forum)
I've finally bought the car that I have always wanted.   I've had it for three weeks now. (Mazda MX5 RF)   I'm 6ft4" and although its not the best fit in the world I haven't got any adjustment to make it anymore roomier. The seat is the furthest back, at the lowest position and the steering wheel is at its highest.
  • Mazda 3 - Faulty o2 sensor - or something else? 18 Jun 2021 (Forum)
I have a 2011 Mazda 3 1.6 Petrol. Around 2 months ago I got the dreaded Engine Management Light. Fault code came back as o2 sensor, running lean.  The mechanic cleared the code and didnt do any work. I used Wynns lambda cleaner on two tanks and since then the problem has been intermittent.
  • Mazda 3 - Mid range family car advice 15 May 2021 (Forum)
Hi, looking for some advice from the community on vehicles we should consider as we look to change our family car this spring. We have had Mazda 3s for the last 6 years and are finding them a little small for our needs as the family grows. Too small both in terms of cabin space as the kids approach teenage years and certainly boot space where even a day at the beach with a couple of bodyboards has us struggling to fit everything in - let alone a couple of suitcases if we contemplate a holiday this summer.
  • Mazda Bongo - Buying a car on behalf of daughter, complications! 25 Nov 2018 (Forum)
Hi I'm probably overthinking this and just confusing myself! I'm travelling down from Scotland to Devon next week, to purchase a Mazda Bongo for my daughter from a private seller. I'm just doing the legwork and she will be the named owner on the V5. Do I have to sign the new owner part of the V5 in my own name and then transfer it to my daughter at a later date?
  • Mazda 2 sport nav - Brake pads 20 Feb 2018 (Forum)
An advice to others , so far our leased ( with maintenance) Mazda 2 sport has had to have brake pads(front) replaced at 7,000 miles and at 14,000 miles. When I queried with garage who have had to contact leasing company for approval ( agreed both times) that this cant be right or indeed normal , blank faces as though I am wrong to make this statement.
