  • In-Car Cameras & Insurance Policies 18 Nov 2011 (Forum)
Hi All, A question I'm curious to find the answer to. I'll be upgrading the runabout next year and I'm seriously tempted to fit a car-cam in the windscreen....
  • Incar CCTV 5 Jun 2011 (Forum)
Overnight someone has driven into my car outside my house, and caused damage similar to that of the March accident, which means another claim on the insurance, as it was a £1200 repair. Given the size of cameras, and cheapness of electronics these days, someone (maybe even the car manufacturers) should develop a system of in car cameras which monitor the outside of the vehicle, so that evidence is available to determine who is responsible for accidents. 4 would suffice at a minimum, mounted at the B pillars, pointing forwards and backwards.

  • Two speeding tickets in two days 17 Apr 2010 (Forum)
We have a new speed camera around the corner from our house and this morning there are two letters about speeding tickets from it on the doormat for two days last week, 41 in a 30 and 39 in a 30. The camera is not a normal Gatso - was fixed but doesn't flash apparently.
  • Guilt of motoring writer 19 Sep 2009 (Ask HJ)
After 50 years clean licence I got caught doing 36mph past a camera. Should I just pay up or go to Court? I am, of course, guilty.
  • Detecting old radar detectors of your mates 1 May 2009 (Forum)
Or even coming out `naked` at night when no one can see into the cab. Some say the bleeps and flashing lights were fun - as well as knowing which camera in the city had the actual camera in it. (Yes they are still seen swapping it around here) My mate has one in the cupboard he says. I told him to leave it there as likely there was a draconian detector detector out there on the mean streets..
  • I Have a Question - Volume 217 14 Jan 2008 (Forum)
Surely 1/8 of a set of batteries per picture is a ridiculous return. All I want is a decent spec, bog standard family camera that comes out of the drawer a few times a year to take normal holiday type piccies. Is this kind of downside what I have to expect unless I spend big?
  • TALEX speed camera detection systems. Best buy? 7 Jan 2008 (Forum)

  • CCTV For Cars 29 Jul 2004 (Forum)
Hi everyone, I have a Seat Alhambra V\'99 model.I park my car away from the house in car parking bay, often out for sight of my house.I have had my car SCRATCHED many times by the LOCAL SCUM BAGS for no reason at all.I\'m after a system that I could use within the car which runs on 12v.It would be good if the cctv camera were infa red/low light, montion detected say 4 meter range, records to video/hard drive and cover 360 degess so may be more than one camera to be used. I have looked at endless web sites with on real luck.I open this up to you all as the POLICE said if you got them on tape they are NICKED.....
  • Taxis in Bus Lanes 21 Feb 2004 (Forum)
With the advent of Congestion Charging and subsequent reduction in traffic, together with Bus Lane Cameras, I optimistically thought that the bus lanes would be relatively free flowing. However any advantage gained from less traffic and the cameras was negated by black cabs either setting down/picking up or simply waiting in the Bus Lane.
  • Factory Fit SatNav Systems - P.O.I. 20 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Does anyone know if factory fit Sat Nav systems indicate the location of static speed cameras (eg, Gatso's / Truvelo's) as 'points of interest'?
