Factory Fit SatNav Systems - P.O.I. - Dynamic Dave
Does anyone know if factory fit Sat Nav systems indicate the location of static speed cameras (eg, Gatso's / Truvelo's) as 'points of interest'?

There is code about to create discs for BMW factory systems so they can be added:

although other manufacturers use the same mapping data, but apparently the software used isn't so "easy" to alter.

Very interesting... hoping for a test drive of a car with SatNav soon as a potential new car. So will copy the disc and investigate. Currently use TomTom but DVD European touch screen sat nav as standard might be useful.

I wasn't sure if it was a 'feature' of most factory fit sat navs or not. This particular one is Vauxhall's CD70 radio/CD/MP3/satellite navigation system.

I've assumed not possible until the post above which I find interesting. After all it's only a POI that they already support.

Depends on how far I get if I decide on the new car being an Avensis with DVD navigation, a cheaper Avensis (T3-x) without or a Mazda6. Or I might decide against both.

Still have TomTom on mobile and pda with maps of Europe
