First production Lotus Elite to auctioned at NEC show 26 Oct 2016 (News)
Ant Anstead’s restoration involved stripping the car to a bare monocoque, fitting a full, FIA approved roll cage accompanied by an FIA homologated Tillett B6F Carbon-GRP racing seat, TRS belts, bespoke fuel system avoiding the notorious “wing tank” that remains fitted. The engine was rebuilt by Coventry Climax specialist, Glyn Peacock, to his full race 'all steel' specification and a pair of weber 40 carbs, the original MGA sourced gearbox was rebuilt by well-known specialist Mike Jennings, and new wheels, from specialist MWS, were fitted with the correct Dunlop racing tyres. -

Sirus Automotive is launching a new wheelchair passenger-up-front vehicle, based on the fuel-efficient 1.3 Fiat Qubo, which the company says will be the most affordable currently on the market. Also launching is another new wheelchair accessible vehicle, the Lewis Reed SEAT Alhambra, a 'good-sized' five passenger seat vehicle, plus room for one wheelchair position. -

Mayor to Review Congestion Tax for Low Emitters 4 Aug 2009 (News)
Following its challenge to The Mayor of London, Volvo Car UK has been successful in its bid to review the current Congestion Charge alternative fuel exemption that, Volvo believes, unfairly biases hybrid cars over other low-emitting vehicles. In his response to the campaign, The Mayor confirmed that the exemption to the Congestion Charge was introduced to incentivise the take-up of more environmentally-friendly vehicles but that he recognised that vehicle technology has developed considerably since then.

Rising fuel prices and Chrysler’s plan to bring in 25 of its own at £37,995 scuppered any bidding past £32,500. Stormin’ Norm was there too in the form of a 27k mile 2003/52 reg Hummer H2 that hit the buffers at £27,500.
