Honda Accord UK (2008 - ) - An alternative to the German Autos 11 Sep 2008 (Forum)
I don't suppose now is a good time to try selling any car but at least now there is a viable and reliable alternative to a German auto diesel. Hopefully it will sell well and persuade Toyota/Lexus and Subaru to do the same. -

A Fair Swap?? 18 Oct 2003 (Forum)
In due course I am going to replace my much loved 1998 Audi A6 saloon. Lexus are doing very competitive deals on the IS 200 & 300 range, and offered a high part-ex price for the A6. I won't need anything as big as the A6 any more, so does the IS200/300 seem like a good bet? -
The new 5 series 3 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Not surprised; when the car was launched I had it on the authority of a very well-known BMW dealer that it was a good car...for a Lexus! Wonder how soon they'll redo the 5. Any guesses, HJ? -
This or that car 17 Apr 2002 (Forum)
My priorities are safety, comfort and of course reliability with reasonably good performance. I prefer an automatic and I have reduced my list to a choice between a Lexus IS200 and a VolvoS60 both 2 litre. I would appreciate your opinion on which would be the best investment. Many thanks D.Chambers -

Bentley Bentayga - Pride in what you do 20 Dec 2016 (Forum)
You would never see that in a Honda factory (who mandate white overalls to show the dirt and enforce a change) let a lone something like a Lexus factory. Are the Bentley workers and managers not proud of what they do ? -
VAG component quality 2 Dec 2014 (Forum)
Of the premium manufacturers, I'm trying to figure out who has the best component quality between BMW, Audi and Mercedes. I'm sure Lexus would be superior but they don't have a car/engine that suits me. -
Thanks Honest John 3 Dec 2012 (Forum)
After months of getting wet riding my Triumph on my 50 mile commute and much deliberation about what car to buy after handing back my company Golf Match TSI I managed to get myself a full spec 2010 Lexus IS250 auto. As the man says probably the only car you wil even need, I do hope he is right. Will keep you posted on our relationship. -
Shock Horror - No more Corollas 8 Jun 2006 (Forum)
I understand that when Toyota launch their new model Corolla segment car at the Paris motor show in autumn (UK sales spring 2007) it will not be called the Corolla anymore. Apparently it will be more spoty & Lexus like in terms of quality etc and the new name will reflect this. I understand they had a bit of a scare when Honda launched the Civic and delayed launch whilst they made some changes. Hopefully they will fix the rattles that seem to plague Toyotas and Lexussesiii. -
police cross boundary jurisdiction 17 Dec 2005 (Forum)
An "I wonder" thread. I went to London yesterday and passed a Wiltshire police Lexus by Membury services, which is in Berkshire. Presumably Wiltshire plod were policing the bit of the M4 in Wiltshire, but had to carry on to J14 to turn around. In general, would they police the bit in Berkshire up to the next junction, or do they have no powers on that bit? -
X Type Jag. 24 Dec 2003 (Forum)
Anyone got any personal views/preferences on the Jaguar X-type? After drawing up a shortlist of cars in this class, I originally thought an IS Lexus would be a good idea. However, due to fidgety ride and the fact that an all new model arrives in 2005 thought I ought to consider the small Jag. Thoughts on reliability etc. much appreciated. I think the 2.5 SE Auto would be the best all-rounder for my needs. -

Toyota Prius - toyota prius - brake actuator fault 16 Feb 2017 (Forum)
HJ also mentions this as a common fault on the Lexus GS 300 (1998 - 2005) "23-1-2012: Combined brake master cylinder and ABS/ESP module prone to failure after 10 - 12 years and costs £3,000 from Lexus UK or £1,800 sourced from Japan, effectively making the car an economic write-off." -

Powershift List Eligibilty 20 Nov 2006 (Forum)
This list includes cars such as certain LPG conversions, all-electric cars and all Honda, Toyota and Lexus hybrids. This got me thinking. Why are Lexus hybrids on the list? They are both large cars that emit more CO2 than many smaller cars that aren't on the list. So I emailed EST asking them what the criteria are for making a car eligible to be listed?
