Citroen to offer Just Add Fuel style package 7 Feb 2014 (News)

Nissan spearheads drive to install 74 EV charging points 22 Oct 2013 (News)
Nissan claims that the rapid chargers will be the state-of-the-art multi-standard units, compatible with cars using 44kW DC CCS, 44 kW DC Chademo or 43 kW AC systems. Work on installations will start in the next few weeks and be completed in late 2014. ‘Nissan is delighted to be leading this important initiative. -
Goodwood Festival of Speed: Honda's racing line-up 5 Jul 2013 (News)
Honda has confirmed that a great line-up of cars, motorcycles and drivers from its rich racing past will be starrig at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which takes place on 11-14 July. Famous riders and dtivers include Freddie Spencer, three time World Motorcycle Grand Prix champion, and John Surtees, the only man to have won both the F1 championship and the World Motorcycle Grand Prix, as well as Gabriele Tarquini, Gordon ‘Flash’ Shedden, Matt Neal, John McGuinness, Alex Lowes, Ralph Bryans and Stuart Graham. -
Fatal accident claims Emma Wilkinson on the Peking to Paris 12 Jun 2013 (News)
Emma, aged 46 with two children, was with her partner and fellow participant Peter Davies, who was not hurt in the accident, driving Car 92 – a 1970 Chevrolet C10 (below). The Tyumen region police reported that the incident was a head-on crash between the British driver’s Chevrolet and a Volkswagen Polo. They added the Polo’s passengers, a 31-year-old man and a baby died while a woman is in intensive care in hospital. -

UK newcomer Dacia has announced that the forthcoming Sandero will be available for a monthly payment from just £69 on Dacia Dimensions (PCP). The £5995, the entry-level Access will be the most affordable new car to buy in the UK, and is available on re-order in anticipation of an early 2013 on-sale date. The £69 deal needs a deposit of £1845 – but even with a £699 deposit, at 9.9% APR, the monthly payments are just £99. -
Charity launches safety initiative for disabled vehicle users 12 Nov 2012 (News)
To be awarded the certificate vehicles must have been through 60 tests including a crash test designed to simulate the impact of an accident on a wheelchair user sitting in the vehicle. Converting a car to be suitable for wheelchair users usually involves significant structural changes which can affect body rigidity and occupant safety, so ensuring converted vehicles remain safe is important – the new labelling will allow buyers to easily identify how safe their potential purchase will be. -

New battery tech to improve EV range 22 Sep 2011 (News)
One of the biggest problems with electric cars is so-called range anxiety. EVs can only usually travel around 100 miles before they run out of juice, and charging them is a long-winded process when you find a place to do it. But as with all technology, there’s a constant drive for improvement and a consortium led by advanced battery manufacturer Axeon has developed a new type of battery that goes some way towards removing the limitations associated with pure EVs. -

The manual transmission will provide numerous advantages over the normal EV setup of an automatic gearbox. First of all it is more involving for the driver, which is important in a sports car.
