Anyone have a Fiat Uno 60 please? 13 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Does anyone drive, or have access to, a Fiat Uno 60, Mk2 car with 1108FIRE type engine (blue covers) on a carb, 1989 to 1992 please? I have a simple question which you may be able to help me with. Thank you. Pete. petel@clara.co.uk -
Jump starting 19 Mar 2002 (Forum)
I think this may have been covered before, but can anyone advise me of the dangers of using jump leads and ECUs. I recently used a Micra to jump start another car and it later refused to start, and now runs badly. What could be the likely trouble? -
B%^&#$d martins! 11 Jan 2002 (Forum)
Those flying birds who wish to build nests. A pair have decided to make my eaves their southern base, and the car gets covered with a saliva/dirt mix. I'd hate to progress to the fledgeling dump stage. Any idea how to dissuade the little critters? -
Anti-Gatso Ploy.. 21 Dec 2001 (Forum)
Followed a Focus home from work today - the back of the car was completely covered with black dirt, absolutely no sign of the number plate lettering. The driver would probably have been able to explain to the police, if stopped, that 'it was clean when I started out, officer', - except that the light clusters were beautifully clean... -
Double mirrors on panel vans 7 Nov 2001 (Forum)
Before I put a second mirror to cover the blind spot, I occassionally found problems with cars concealed there. Now I never get caught out when going to overtake another vehicle as it is obvious. I am not sure why more panel vans and artics do not do the same. -
Vauxhall Corsa 2011 1.0ltr - Vauxhall Corsa Sound advice Needed urgently 7 Aug 2014 (Forum)
I am currently looking to take some legal action if someone thinks i would have a good case as i am fed up having the car in and out of the garage at my expense. Would really appreciate some sound advice as what to do as Perrys really do not give a cr@p. The car is fully serviced and has only covered 29K from new and I have amore reliable Ford KA 1996 sat on my drive for my daughter which i woud rather drive and put faith in than this car. -
Mobility scheme cars. Do the sums add up? 11 Jul 2017 (Forum)
Ten years ago I bought a three year old ex mobility car for around 25 to 30% of the new list price. During its time on the scheme the previous user handed over their benefit payment to have use of the car. This monthly payment also covered tax, insurance, servicing and even tyres! -
Panoramic Sunroof - Has anyone had problems? 23 Aug 2010 (Forum)
Can anyone stand on their panoramic roof and see if it takes their weight? Just joking. Have rang my current insurers and they say it is not covered under windscreen cover and that i have to put a claim in which can affect my NCB in the long run. (Have not bought the car yet, just asked them what if i had a car with a panoramic sunroof) -
Advice Please... 21 Sep 2003 (Forum)
About 6 months ago I purchased an approved used vehicle from a main dealer. The car was about 15 months old with 1 previous local owner who had traded it in for another of the same model. The car in my opinion was immaculate and the fact that it had only covered 6k miles made my mind up and I duly proceeded with the purchase. -
From The Telegraph - Car Dealers consolidation. Costs... 29 Aug 2016 (Forum)
One bit of the Article says £7million to build a new showroom in Cambridge.. How many cars do they need to sell to cover those sort of costs. What will the hourly rate be for work? Including staff costs, rates and taxes, I reckon that is a lot of cars to sell, but very nice to see Jaguar doing well.. -
Short term Car insurance for under 25's 15 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Hi guys, Does anyone know of an insurer which offers short term insurance for Under 25's on cars above group 18? I need to insure a Group 19 car for a period of 1 day. I usually use Norwich Union or Dayinsure for this purpose but they will only cover me for up to Group 17 as I'm under 25. My existing insurer won't help becuase the car does not belong to me. -
Car delivery co gone bust 23 Oct 2004 (Forum)
Apologies if this has been covered in the past few weeks whilst I've been away from the forums... My parents ordered a new car in mid-July for delivery 3rd week of September. They are still waiting.... Part of the reason for delay has been, according to the supplying main dealer, that the car delivery (transporter) firm that the manufacturer uses in the UK has gone bust. -
Insuring 2 cars on same policy 14 Dec 2003 (Forum)
I have a fully comp. insurance policy for my first car. I own a 2nd car, and have been told by my insurance company I can drive my 2nd car, or any other car third party. I have phoned 3 times to check this and they are 100% convinced it\'s fine for my to drive my second car third party even though there is no other insurance covering it. -
Pug 405 Oil Leak from engine mount 22 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Crankcase pressure DOES seem a little high, but all accessible breathers have been checked and are clear. The car has never used any oil between changes, and I have always used Mobil 1. I have run the car for the last 4 years (bought with 99k, now on 126k & FSH before then), without it missing a beat. Does anybody have any suggestions? -
Mazda 3 - Mazda3 2.2 Diesel 1st Gear pull away judder 27 Apr 2022 (Forum)
The car has only covered 47k (full Mazda SH) and is in good nick to be fair. I am experiencing a strange judder when pulling away in 1st gear; which seems to be less severe if I pick the revs up a little than I normally would. -
Audi A3 - On line car insurance 11 Aug 2017 (Forum)
Buying car insurance via a price comparison site is getting more and more like buying an airline ticket at peak time! Got my hard copy renewal this week with a 30% hike on last years premium-so hit the usual price comparison websites finding competitive cover ( same level as mine) for 20% less than 2016/7 premium. -
Ford Focus Mk 2 - Handbrake cable aftermath 30 Sep 2016 (Forum)
It was a job that I considered doing myself, but we live on a steep hill so getting underneath the car for any length of time is decidedly ropey. Time maybe to put that driveway in. Got the car back, eventually (because the job was meant to be done yesterday but only the rear cables turned up from the supplier so it had to be rescheduled for today), took it home and found that the plastic handbrake cover was sitting loose on the console, the lugs underneath the cover having been broken clean off when it was removed by what must have been brute force. -
Adelaide Insurance for holders of LGV/PCV licences 8 Feb 2014 (Forum)
That was with £100 excess and myself and my wife on the policy and includes legal protection, no claims protection, foreign cover and key cover. A very good deal. I changed my car last week for a more powerful Ford Mondeo and it cost me only £26.50 of which £16.50 was their standard admin fee. None of us like to pay admin fees but their £16.50 is a lot fairer than the £55 my wifes last insurers were looking for. -
Lent car to uninsured friend who had an accident 2 Nov 2013 (Forum)
A while back I lent a car to a friend of mine. He had told me that he had cover to drive other vehicles, but this turned out not to be the case. Unfortunately he got involved in an accident (not entirely his fault as far as I've been able to ascertain, for what it's worth). -
2005 Volkswagen Polo 1.2 (9N) - Help with Water Leak 30 Jul 2013 (Forum)
The car doesn't have air con or a sunroof, and the leak is too high to be the matrix. It only affects the passenger footwell too. Surely it has to be the drain holes below the windscreen? The windscreen was the only part of the car where I poured water.
