Adelaide Insurance for holders of LGV/PCV licences - Scottie Boy

If any of you guys out there have an LGV or PCV licence it may be worth giving this company a call. They are based in Belfast and specialise in Car Insurance for holders of the aforementioned licences. I renewed my car insurance on November last year and for an at the time 11 month old Kia Sportage 2.0 CRDi KX3 it cost me £159.10, yes thats right £159.10. That was with £100 excess and myself and my wife on the policy and includes legal protection, no claims protection, foreign cover and key cover. A very good deal. I changed my car last week for a more powerful Ford Mondeo and it cost me only £26.50 of which £16.50 was their standard admin fee. None of us like to pay admin fees but their £16.50 is a lot fairer than the £55 my wifes last insurers were looking for. Give them a call, my experiences of them has been first class whether it be their prices or their very polite and pleasant staff of which nothing ever seems to be a problem. I also got a great deal on my home insurance from them.

Disclaimer------ I have no connection to Adelaide Insurance Services except I am a customer of theirs.

Funnily enough i renewed this year with them for the first time, my group 18 (in the old groups) MB cost me £196, total of £300 excess (less for theft/fire) plus legal cover and protected policy.

They also offer special deals to IAM members.

Very interesting, I'll remember to get a quote from them when my renewal is due.

Been with them for four years now. When I traded my Rio in for a brand new Venga, it cost me an additional £10 premium, plus the £16.50 admin fee for the remaining 9 months on my policy

Car Insurance seems to be a very strange business, years ago I was with More Than and I drove a 140bhp Volvo V70 2.5d. I was with them for years then I changed to a 122bhp Mercedes C Class 200 CDI which unbeknown to me was the runt of the C Class litter. More Than shafted me for £160 extra stating my Merc was newer so was 'higher risk' then when I got my renewal they wanted £640!!!!! I went elsewhere. Anyway years later I traded in a fantastic Ford Mondeo Titanium 2.0 TDCi 140bhp which was 4yrs old for a brand new Kia Sportage KX3 2.0 CRDi 134bhp which was a whopping £25k and my insurance came DOWN by around £20 although this was mostly taken by an admin fee. Kind of blows More Than's argument out of the water eh??? I always think when I enter my details into confused etc it comes up at their end as ' idiot who will pay anything'!!!!!

IMO it's necessary to shop around EVERY year, it's the only way to tell if a renewal quote is taking the p**s or not.

I've been with Adelaide for 6+years now, as an IAM member, and very pleased with them - although twice I had to get them to price-match as their initial offer was silly high.
