  Why is it that Peugeot have to insist on having a 'diognostic check' for a handsome price of £55, BEFORE they have started work on your car. I rang up every single one today and they all said the same dispite me saying "I know what the damn problems are with the car, all I need is a new plipper and a new connector under my seat for the airbag!"

  I\'ve got a Peugeot 306 and I\'m having problems with the front door lock. There seems to be resistance when I put the key in the lock to try and open the door. Its been getting worse over the past 6 months and now its very hard to actually get the door open without doing it from the passenger side.

  Got a slight noise from the Cam belt area at tick over but vanishes then hot. Either the Tensioner was not changed by Peugeot or the the new belt is exciting the water pump bearing. Any thoughts here, what is the typical life of a 106 water pump. Regards Peter

  I have a 1998 Peugeot 306 D-Turbo and I am having to fill the radiator expansion tank almost once a week. I have heard that this problem could be caused by a sticking thermostat or head gasket failure. I am curious as to whether the thermostat does have a fault as the normal running temperature of the engine seems to be about 70ish and should probably be at about 90.

  I have a new Peugeot 307 and have steering wheel tremor at about 70-75 mph. It feels as though the balance needs doing, so had the wheels balanced, new drive shafts, steering rack dampner adusted (made the steering stiff!)

  If you have bought a Peugeot with 'free' insurance, be aware of two things. Firstly, the number at the top of their letterhead is wrong. The code should be 0845, NOT 0870. Secondly, although it is 'comprehensive', it does NOT cover you to drive other vehicles on a third party only basis.

  After a few months I decided the rear-end skittishness was more than just scuttle-shake, and the local garage found very little pressure remained in the n/s damper, and the o/s one was not a lot better. I have never (knowingly) had any trouble with Peugeot dampers, so is this a cabrio problem, or did the car just have faulty ones from new?

  In your car by car breakdown for the Peugeot 405, rust appears at the top of the list of what's bad. Where should I look to check for rust on these cars? I have looked at a few 405 estates already, but have not seen any rust problems. Problems I have found are coolant leaks, heavy clutches on turbo diesels, leaky inboard driveshaft seals (gearbox oil leaking out) and rattling aux. drivebelt lensioners.

  Where about is the diaphram on the lucas injection pump, is it the side round part or on the bottom, how do i test this?

  The single washer pump works for the rear screen but not for the front screen. Any ideas why?????????
