The rarest vehicle on display has to be a 1950 Nipper Truck Milk Float which is bound to win over plenty of voters. Believed to the the very last one in existence, it’s equipped with the correct period bottles including the old third-of-a-pint school milk bottles.

  • We've been adding more to HJClassics - and there's more to come 4 Nov 2013 (News)
The unimaginatively titled Our Classic Cars section is devoted to our capers in he old cars the we own ourselves - and although it's currently listed to just my rag-tag fleet, it will expand as the site expands. Currently I'm running a Lancia Delta Integrale, a Citroen XM is joining in as - hopefully - my reliable winter workhorse, and there's also a Toyota Celica GT-Four, which I reckon must be the emerging classic performance car bargain of the decade. Well it is, if my experiences are anything to go by.
  • Leyland P76 wins the Peking to Paris 29 Jun 2013 (News)
It’s the best rally car I’ve ever driven!’ The ex-1974 World Cup Rally winning Citroen DS23, crewed by Robbie Sherrard and Peter Washington, came third in a car that Peter described as, ‘continually punching above its weight.’ In the Vintageants group, the trophy was raised by the British team of Phil Garratt and Kieron Brown in their red 1937 Chevrolet Fangio Coupe.
  • Report: Peking to Paris, day three 30 May 2013 (News)
Gerry Crown was impressive in the big Leyland P76, barrelling through the soft sand, covering those digging their Volvo out of a bog in clouds of dust… the driver of the white VW, Garrick Staples, was awesomely quick, flicking from side to side over the ruts in the sand maintaining traction, and the 1974 World Cup Rally winning Big Citroen DS23 (below) just hoisted up its skirts on its adjustable suspension and glided through anything remotely difficult. It doesn’t take much time for the shortcomings of preparation to show themselves.

  • Drive it Day at Vauxhall's Heritage Centre 23 Feb 2009 (News)
And while the focus of the day will be Vauxhall’s own collection of over 50 classic Griffin-badged classics, from the earliest 1903 model to the iconic muscle cars such as the Lotus Carlton and Monaro VXR, access to the classic car area will be open to any make or model. In 2008, that included no less than four incredibly rare Citroen GSs, a Guy bus, a Rover P6 Estoura estate and a 1956 Chrysler Imperial, all of which just turned up on the day. And turning up on the day is the essence of the event. As well as classic cars, autojumblers are invited to just turn up and throw up their pitch in a special area reserved for jumblers, where classic fans can search for that elusive spare part.
