• Vauxhll Vivaro - Help!!!!!! 22 Dec 2012 (Forum)
  It keeps going in to limp mode. I've changed all air flow sensors, EGR valve, timing belt, alternator, fuel filter, air filter, turbo unit and battery. Now!!! If I leave it for a while, it will start and tick over, as soon as I press the accelerator pedal it cuts out. What is wrong with my van?

  Needs to be automatic and I quite fancy the flippy paddles to gearshift.  I like my cars to be fairly quick  but not to AMG standard. Therefore fuel economy is not an issue here. Can anybody recommend a model and also what models should I avoid. Thanks

  Hi All, Am thinking of getting a 2003 Berlingo 1.9D. Will it run on waste veg oil and what mods will it need to do so? I understand that the Bosch VE fuel pump is up to the job, but is it fitted to all 03/04 cars with the 1.9D engine? Any advice greatly appreciated  Cheers   Mick

  Am I correct in thinking that this mileage is nothing for a diesel golf? Or are there potential issues at this mileage? Also, anyone reckon I'll still get the same fuel economy at this mileage as I would at less miles?

  my 307 has started playing up had to call rac out  non start .will turn over but not start used booster pack and in the end it started and ran ok turned it off and no start again its 2 hdi rac think its fuel pressure sensor on the pump dont want to spend 140.00 for a new one to find its somthing more any ideas .

  My 106 had a bump, sat for while whilst I fixed it and now it wont start, all i could here was the starter clicking, so I hit that to see if it was stuck, not the clikcing stopped and but i cant here the fuel pump priming up. I have pressed the big red reset button lots but to no avail. Any ideas please?

  My MOT station advised me to have the brake and fuel pipes on my 11 year old 5-series BMW cleaned of corrosion and protected.  My local garager suggests cleaning off to bare metal and applying grease, but I am concerned that the gease will wash off leaving the pipes unprotected.

  Why when someone has a problem in Technical can't they just give more information of the problem to hand rather than "car cuts out" etc? Make, model , year, fuel type needs to be in the information better still before it can be posted up. We don't have a crystall ball to help you. And the original op fails to come back after posting for several days if at all.

  I have a problem with my peugeot where it just wont start it fires fine but engine wont start at all been told fuel pump needs replacing also soliniod on the pump might have gone any one gt any other ideas i could try ?? its had new glow plugs

  I think I've had a duff batch of petrol.  Fuel economy is rubbish this last tankful, and the emissions stink!  I had a little panic that my catalytic converter was on the blink but I reckon that's supposed to smell like bad eggs. Blinking Texaco as well!!

  when i fill up with 98ron it can take two attempts to start, but doesn't knock. it's struggling to ignite the less combustible fuel but i don't know what to look at- sensors or earthing problem perhaps? thanks, kris  
• Citroen C5 anti-pollution fault 30 Aug 2011 (Forum)
  I have a Citroen C5 hdi 2001 model. occasionally the computer flags up "Anti-pollution Fault". When taken to the garage and connected to the magic machine it indicates a fault with the fuel pressure switch. However, once the computer is re-set the car runs normally until the next time. This last happened a year ago, and has recently happened again. Any clues??

  [endif]--> Hi Everyone, i have 2.2 diesel 03 Reg, for about a few weeks a warning has come on the screen,the car on and off goes into limp mode, sometimes its fine sometimes max is 2 revs,  went for a diagnostic said it was the fuel pump.   Was driving home when car began to judder to a stop, & cut out.  Have had the Cam & crank sensors changed & a new fuel filter.  There is pressure at the injectors but they are not opening.  Diaginostics coming up with no error codes, car will start with easy start, but wont run for long - any suggestions would be gd

  hi ya i have a rover tourer and i need to find out where the ignition module is i have changed the  coil and the crank sensor they were of a 1.4 (would that make a difference ) but there is still no spark also changed lead to coil and rotory arm fuel is getting thru any help would be gratefully appricated

   I am tring to find out how much fuel is in the reserve tank of my 2007 Corsa petrol. I know that the tank capacity is given as 45 litres but I cannot find out the precise capacity of the reserve tank. I have even phoned my local Vaixhall dealer and they said they didnt know.

  Article in the German press today states that the EU in Brussels have passed a new regulation to come into effect in 2013 which by todays prices would increase the price of diesel fuel by 79cents a litre,Because city air is getting dirtier its an effort to stop people using diesel fuel.Also being discussed is bringing the tolls for cars into effect here in Germany along with a speed limit on autobahns after the horrendous crash by Rostock.

  Have put new glow plugs in, check glow plug controller. Replaced crankshaft sensor and temperature sensor. Checked fuel system for air leaks - ok. The immobiliser and ignition system are fine and working as should be and key is working fine. ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

  I have a Focus TDCI 2002.It has been a bad starter since i bought it a few weeks ago and then occasionally it loses power.I have to pull over and switch off then on and it can be fine for the rest of the journey.A garage told me told change the sensor switch on the fuel inlet manifold.I did this at the weekend and now the car is off two cylinders.

  the orange warning light (thats the one witth a square box with a spiky graph and a spiral under )comes on when i start cold, off when i restert from warm. I have drained the fuel filter as it said to do, but no water was evident. Van runs fine. just the tickover revs are wavering up and down slightly. Any ideas guys??
