  London Classic Car Show to return in 2016 14 Jan 2015 (News)
  Among the cars sold were a £1.5m Ferrari, three £500,000 Aston Martins and a £500,000 Jaguar E-type. Citroen, meanwhile, used the event to kick-start its celebrations for the legendary DS’s 60th anniversary year.  Next year’s London Classic Car Show will take place once again at ExCeL, albeit slightly later (February 18th to 21st).

  Wheel to Wheel Racing at Croft on 21/22 July 10 Jul 2012 (News)
  In addition to Northern Saloon & Sports Cars and Formula Renaults, more exciting categories will be on track at Croft during its 21/22 July event, being organised by the British Automobile Racing Club.   Hyundai i20 Earns 5* NCAP Rating 28 May 2009 (News)

  A 44k mile Y reg MGF 1.8 (same engine, newer, less miles) sold for £5,050.   Last Monday’s 1972 Ro80 was back, now with an earsplitting exhaust and bid to £475, but it was running sweetly with no more than a bit of condensation smoke out of the back. Even a 144k mile 93L Citroen ZX 1.4 Reflex was all of £130. A bit more real world was a 6 month old 6k mile 04 reg MINI Cooper S in al-over black with a full length sunroof sold for £14,250, a 97k mile 99R BMW 523iSE Touring auto, sold for £4,750 and a 60k mile 98S Ford Explorer sold for £4,050.

  Audi quattro for £50 at Auction Today 23 Jul 2004 (News)
  A pretty metallic blue 128k mile 98R Mercedes C250TD Classic auto estate sold for £4,800. A 42k mile 98R Previa 2.4GS 8 seater auto sold for £4,100. A 24k mile 2001Y Citroen Saxo 1.1 Desire with PAS sold for £2,625. And a 58k mile 97P Fiesta 1.3LX sold for £975. Yes, I know this is an oddball collection of prices but the thing they have in common is they’re all extremely cheap.

  As well as this, it compensates the traction interruption caused by the system during gear shifting. At low speeds it can drive the car on its own. Like the Citroen Dynalto, driving performance also benefits from the electrical energy which is supplied to the drivetrain in addition to the engine power. The car accelerates from zero to 60mph in just 17.4 seconds, two seconds less than the Smart CDI.

To my mind, the only real cheapies were a 133,000 mile 96N Citroen Xantia 2.0iSX 16v which bid to a lowly £1,375, a 93,000 mile 96N Xantia 1.9LXTD which bid to £1,800 and a desirable but 91,000 mile 98R Peugeot 406 Pininfarina coupe with aircon which bid to £7,475.

  However, at the dearer end there seem to have been some drops. £9,600 wasn’t a lot to secure an 08 Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 7-seater. £13,800 tells us what a 6k miles 08 reg VW Eos 2.0TDI 143CR is really worth. And if you needed a chunky towcar, a 5k mile 2007/57 facelift Mitsubishi Shogun 3.2 DI-DC Equippe auto SWB was almost half price at £13,900.

  Prices Realistic at Auction Today 25 Jul 2008 (News)
  £9,600 was all the trade was prepared to pay for a 48k mile facelift 05 Mercedes C220CDI Avant Garde auto with half leather, £10,000 for a 31k mile 05 BMW 330i, £10,100 for a 19k mile 06 BMW 318iSE, and just £4,150 for a 106k mile 02 BMW 320d SE Touring. Even a 57k mile 04 Citroen C3 1.4HDI LX (£35 tax and 60mpg) was just £2,850. And an 18k mile 06 Renault Megane 1.5DCI Dynamique Coupe Convertible (the most economical one) sold for £8,300. Bidding for a 45k mile 06 SAAB 9-3 1.9D 150 Linear convertible petered out at £7,800, however, largely due to the white unburned petrol smoke coming out of its exhaust pipe.

Once beloved of sales reps everywhere, 10.2% of 1990s Cavaliers have been scrapped. While the Saxo, which defined modified motoring for the Max Power generation saw 2505 destroyed - 24.1% of the total left.
