Ford Fiesta continues to top the UK sales charts and the range's appeal will be boosted by the arrival of the facelifted new models in January 2013. The updated car will featuring class-leading fuel economy from six powertrains with CO2 emissions under 100g/km, as well as leading driver assistance and safety features including Active City Stop, SYNC with Emergency Assistance and MyKey. Mark Norman, of CAP, said: 'It is always tempting for the motoring media and other industry observers to take ‘the petrol head’ approach when giving awards to cars which excite them, but the CAP Used Car of the Year Award recognises the contribution a car makes to both consumers and dealers.' -

New official mpg test on the way 13 May 2011 (News)
With many drivers struggling to meet official claimed mpg figures the revised test will be welcomed by confused buyers. Our recently launched Real Life Fuel Economy Register aims to provide car buyers and owners of the real-world average mpg of their model. It achieves this by collating and averaging real world user uploaded figures. So far the results predominantly show that in the real world owners usually return less than the claimed official figures, sometimes significantly so. -

Peugeot 107 'top for residual value' 24 Aug 2009 (News)
Eurotaxglass's carried out a survey and discovered that the city car is one of seven superminis in the top ten a fact it attributes to their high fuel efficiency and low road tax. The Peugeot 107 was found to be worth 60.9 of its original price after three years, which could be good for drivers who currently have one in the driveway. Second was the Toyota Aygo, found to be worth 60.2 per cent of its value, while the Suzuki Swift came third at 59.5 per cent.
