Ford Fiesta is CAP's Used Car of The Year

The Ford Fiesta, Britain’s best-selling new car, has been voted Used Car of the Year 2012 by CAP. The independent car information specialists chose the Fiesta for its all-round affordability, practicality, reputation and popularity in the used car market.

The Fiesta is a sure-fire hit with private buyers, and it's this demand and desirability - as well as strong overall reliability and image - which places it at the top of so many people's shopping lists. Residual values are topped only by the Volkswagen Polo in this sector.

Ford Fiesta continues to top the UK sales charts and the range's appeal will be boosted by the arrival of the facelifted new models in January 2013. The updated car will featuring class-leading fuel economy from six powertrains with CO2 emissions under 100g/km, as well as leading driver assistance and safety features including Active City Stop, SYNC with Emergency Assistance and MyKey.

Mark Norman, of CAP, said: 'It is always tempting for the motoring media and other industry observers to take ‘the petrol head’ approach when giving awards to cars which excite them, but the CAP Used Car of the Year Award recognises the contribution a car makes to both consumers and dealers.'
