'Britons' top European driving destination is Germany' 7 Jul 2008 (News)
New research from an automobile manufacturer has revealed Britain's favourite European country in which to drive. According to Vauxhall, the UK's top destination for motoring is Germany, followed by France, Norway and Spain. However, drivers may still be at risk of invalidating their car insurance policy when heading abroad. -
Fiat reports increased revenue over first quarter 28 Apr 2008 (News)
The company experienced high levels of growth in Brazil, where there was a 35 per cent rise in vehicles sold, while 27 per cent and 15 per cent increases were recorded in France and Germany. It also stated that the Fiat 500 and Fiat Panda performed well, as did the Fiat Punto. "Fiat Group revenues rose nearly ten per cent to €15 billion (£11.7 billion), with all businesses contributing to the increase, despite the uneven trading conditions in some key regions," the company announced. -

Future marketing director at Renault Ireland Rachid Assas praised the efforts of Glencullen chairman Bill McCullen, who has been with the company for 21 years. -

It is expected to fetch between £479,000 and £634,000. There’s also a 1961 Aston Martin DB4 included in the catalogue. Sold new in France, this left-hand DB4 is fitted with a Vantage-spec triple-carb engine and has the dashboard instruments from the DB4 GT. It’s expected to make up to £388,000. The official Retromobile sale by Artcurial Motorcars is an annual fixture at the Paris show. -

The auction included a 59 classics from the Ballion collection. Roger Baillon, an industrialist from the west of France, had saved many of the cars from the scrapyard. He hoped one day to turn his collection into a museum As well as the Ferrari, other cars from the collection sold included a 1956 Maserati A6G 2000 Gran Sport Berlinetta Frua at €2,000,000 (£1,479,274.25), and a the 1949 Talbot-Lago T26 Grand Sport SWB by Saoutchik that sold for €1,700,000 (£1,257,449.58). -

Ex-Nicolas Cage Bugatti could make £1.3m at auction 3 Sep 2015 (News)

Paddy Hopkirk to drive at the Festival of Speed 22 Jan 2014 (News)
Paddy Hopkirk will drive a Mini Cooper S up the Goodwood hill, evoking memories of his heroic performance on the mountain stages of Southern France in 1964. The 1964 Monte Carlo Rally featured crews starting from a variety of European cities, such as Oslo, Paris and Glasgow and descending on the Principality after a mammoth three-day drive of over 1400 miles. -
Jaguar XF claims further honours 26 Aug 2008 (News)
Explaining why the XF was chosen ahead of the rest, evecars.com's editor Alex Jenner-Fust remarked: "Driving it is a real pleasure, whether you're on the school run or cruising to the south of France." She added that the seats are extremely comfortable, while its audio system "is easy to use". Ms Jenner-Fust is not the first authority to have praised the Jaguar XF's stereo in recent weeks.
