  • 1960 Morris Minor to Undertake 2,000 Mile Round Britain Marathon in Aid of Marie Curie 20 Nov 2015 (News)
    The 2,000-mile route will encompass Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Wales and Jersey, stopping off at individual branches of the MMOC for separate fundraising events. It is anticipated that the run will start on 16 th September 2016 and take a total time of about a month. There is a provisional calendar, but dates may well change or firm-up allowing for servicing of the car, ferry crossings, etc., and events such as the Goodwood Revival.

    The latest CAP used car price guide shows that used car prices in November will remain stable. Traditionally the demand for used cars reduces in the run up to Christmas, meaning a reduction in used car values. This year, used prices are down by an average of 1.5%, which is a lower percentage than is expected in November, when car sales, particularly of used cars, tend to slow down.

    Fleets and businesses took 59.2% of new car registrations in October 2011, up 2.9% over 2010. Diesels continue to be popular, with more than half of all new cars registered running on diesel or alternative fuels such as electricity. The 2.6% overall growth in the number of new cars registered last month is 7% more than the SMMT’s original forecast for the month, but the market remains 20% behind pre-recession levels recorded in 2007.
