• 2013 BMW 5 Series Touring SE 520d - Wheel alignment and fuel consumption 5 May 2016 (Forum)
  I've just had a full new set of tyres fitted to my 2013 BMW 5 Series Touring at 29,000 miles, the garage also did a wheel alignment check, and some adjustment was made to the toe on all 4 wheels.  My fuel consumption has now increased from around 53-54 mpg to consistently under 50.

  Hi. I have a 2004 BMW 318ISE. I inadvertently left it idling outside the front of my house for 2 hrs last night. When I went back to it the engine had stopped and the car appears to be totally dead. When I turn the key in the ignition nothing happens.

  There are no chips and no damage to the headlamps . One small point , don't lose the small wishbone shaped spring clip that holds the bulb in place .BMW dealers charge £5 for that 3" long shaped piece of steel wire !

  Hi all, I want to buy a new car from a dealership (as I have had bad experience going private) - can you please recommend any reliable honest dealerships where I can get a good price, honest salesman and a well looked after car? I am not after anything flashy, just a 2005+ BMW 1 Series. I will be getting this on finance and of course I know it will come with it wear and tears over the years, just dont want any extreme unexpected surprises. Please give recommendations of dealers that you use or have used, or dealerships that you have heard great things about.

  HELP PLEASE i am new to this but need some help. i have a bmw 320 diesel 1999 that wont start. i was driving and the engine cut out as if no fuel. mechanic found no fuel going to injecters so replaced the fuel pump as pressure was very low in pump. it now has fuel to engine but still wont start, tried a new crank senser today but still no good, turns over wont start. diagnostics wont pick anything up as computer thingy wont work. previous to this i had a problem with it losing power on a longer run as if it was gonna stall then blow blueish smoke out and off it went again. it has had a new air and fuel filter thans for reading please help.

  Hi, had a slight misfire on my BMW, felt like a fuel problem that has got worse, it now had a blank spot when accelerating from 500-1000rpm seems okay over this with no back fire, I have replaced all filters plugs, leads, dist, ECU, cam sensor, and injectors and have checked the fuel pump, it now has no power under pressure, okish on the flat and down hill but struggles up hill, i have noticed that 1 and 4 plugs run dry and 2 and 3 are wet/normal could the 02 sensor and cat converter be the problem?

  Having sold the family runaround ,  are in a position to order our ' dream car ' , a much in demand latest shape BMW X3 Auto Main dealers here in North London quoting list and about 5 months delivery  An ' online broker ' , called Multi Marques ,  can get it in about 3 months via a contact at their local main dealers and at appx  8-10% off list -  it will be Trade reg which I'm fine with, supplied via a main dealer up North .

  Am having an intermittent problem with my BMW 325 tds. Every so often the injector light on the dash will show....when this happens the car will lose power and pull back or stutter. Changing down to a lower gear and increasing the revs always cures the problem and the light goes out.

  Hi please can anyone advise me what would be the best estate to buy my budget will be 5 Grand i have been looking at  Audi A4 tdi or Petrol version and BMW 320 diesel sport and 5 series diesel and petrol  version bearing in mind we dont use the car everyday and only do about 4/5K milege a year we have 2  small dogs and child. We currently have a Honda CRV 1999 on t reg but now fancy a estate car please can someone steer me in the right direction.

  I am worried about the reply to my question about service history, as follows "Since I have had the car, I did a yearly service. I did not follow BMW's recommended service plan. I felt there was no need and was a bit time consuming and costly to follow their service plan." I am now in two moods, head & heart, with my head saying beware due to past problems with turbo, but as it has had a yearly service would this be OK?

  Plenty in the sunnier parts of the USA of course. Failing that, it will be a case of take a deep breath and let BMW main dealer sort in the spring. Thanks for any suggestions -- somewhere in the Midlands would be great.
• BMW - 523 - 1997 Overheating problem 21 Nov 2009 (Forum)
  I February this year I began to experience overheating with my 1997 BMW 523i. The RAC could not diagnose the problem directly but advised having the Viscous Coupling on the fan replaced. I booked the car in with my local main dealer who instead replaced the Radiator and Thermostat - telling me that the fan was fine - charging me £450 for the privilege.

  Hello its that man again, After haveing not much luck with dealers off the cars that i liked i thought i would try a BMW garage that i just happened to drive past, now what a difference i know the cars are more expensive but the service is pretty faultless oh and the kids loved the toys and the fact that they got treated well with drinks and sweets.

  Dont want to choose one and then end up being out of pocket, i cant have the diesel version as it is out of my bench mark. Failing the Bmw i can have the passat cc 170diesel or the volvo v50. Any help appreciated {typo in header amended - DD}

  Hi everyone I am new to the forum and my car is a 2000W BMW E39 530D touring SE auto. The problem I have is the car performs very well until it reaches just under 4000rpm then it hits a wall and the accelerator does nothing the car continues to gather speed until it reaches full power at just below 4000rpm by full speed I mean at that rpm it will not rev higher I haven't noticed this before as I very rarely drive at those speeds but as it should do much better I would like it to and I am concerned it might be the start of something serious any advice gratefully received thanks Chris

  I bought privately at £6250 and the interesting aspect is that at 3+ years it has cost well under half the amount I paid in 2003 for my first BMW, though the mileage is quite a lot higher.

  Hi has anyone experienced problems with bmw gearboxs? We have had a 97 728 auto dragged in as a non starter,the dash display shows its still in D so we think thats the reason it wont start but whats caused it? The owner reported that alternator light came on on way home and he couldnt select reverse so he pushed it in neutral.
