  hi i need to replace the steering wheel on my 03 focus with like for like. info i have says to remove airbag by first disconnecting battery earth lead. leave for at least 1 minute, remove airbag, undo nut and remove steering wheel. fit new wheel, tighten nut and fit air bag. reconnect earth lead. is that it or am i missing anything. anything i should watch for. thanks in advance

  There is no problem with the fluid, however the puzzling thing is that an hour after it stopped working and I limped the car home, it was fine and the light for the power steering has gone off, any ideas please. This car has never had a new battery.

  The car is an old but much loved 205 cabrio fitted with the original Clarion radio/cassette player. New battery fitted and needed to enter the radio code. Entered 1114 instead of 1113 (small buttons big fingers...) and the radio froze. Owners manual says that it is now locked and has to be taken to a Pug dealer.

  hi everybody just recently purchased a volkswagon sharon 2000 model 1.9tdi and having problems setting up remote key fob.i have followed the instructions in the hand book and the key fob flashes and the led in the door flashes like it should but still does not work.i have even replaced batteries,if some one knows how to set it up please let me no or if you no the wereabouts off the reciever.thanks craig

  Thought it might be the switch - swapped that over but still no sign of life. Connecting the blower directly to the battery and it springs into life. Any advice on what to look at next? Its getting pretty cold just now. Cheers Rob

  Could it have been the fact that because of the fog, I had fog lights and dipped beam on that caused the battery to stop working? Any thoughts are gratefully appreciated.

  Yesterday she noticed smoke coming from under the bonnet and when it was opened the oil filler cap was lying beside the battery and the oil had covered the manifold causing the smoke. I take it there must be some sort of pressure build up occuring any suggestions what to check? Or is it terminal Thanks

  The manual gives simple instructions for resetting the mpg and the avg speed but none for recalibrating the tank range (If it can actually be done). Also the battery has already been disconnected for another problem and that didnt help either. Any ideas. thanks!

  I know the code as he wrote it on the side of the radio and in the caravan instruction book. We can't seem to get it to take the code after the battery been disconnected all winter. It has 4 number buttons and the usual opperating buttons i think its out of a old 200/400 series any ideas?

  When I lock my 406 Coupe using the remote, the nearside indicators sometimes stay lit (without flashing) until I unplug the battery. I understand that a quick fix is to bypass the electronics that make the indicators flash when the car is locked. Would someone be able to advise me on how to do this? My Coupe is a 99 2.0 D8 model (i've not had much luck on peugeot406coupe.com with this one) Many thanks in advance

  the alarm on my car is playing up. i have the standard 1 button vw alarm fob. when i press the button on the fob the red light in the top corner does flash. however nothing happens on the car. ive changed batterys in both fobs but still no luck. opened up bonnet and the connection is in the alarm speaker and wiring looks ok. any help/suggestions

  and it has and alarm on (3rd party i think) which all of a sudden has started going off randomly, even when it is supposedly switched off and when you are driving. I thought it might be the battery but it was new about 6 months ago, so has anyone else got any ideas what it could be?! Thanks

  But trawling around other motoring websites and consumer reports (both UK and US) shows a lot of owners complaining of electrical niggles. Flat batteries, radio not working, all sorts of warning lights coming on - sounds like the car is beset with electrical gremlins. Any advice would be very much appreciated, thanks. Ykl

  I have looked at the fuel pump which is fine and checked the fuses again these are ok, the car turns over when i turn the key so the battery is fine aswell. Does anybody have any other suggestions as to what the problem may be?

  Neither horn works on my Nexia 1.5l,N reg,96,3 door hatch. Both horns proved by connecting direct to battery, relay ok (swapped with headlamp relay to prove),fuse intact, believe steering wheel switch ok as relay can be heard clicking when operated. Both horns wired seperately to outlet from relay therefore presume a wiring defect would be affecting both cables.

  I have a problem with the central locking on my Omega. Last night the locking simply stopped working. Both my keys still seem to have plenty of battery power. Also, the boot release from the key and the button on the dashboard do not work. I have tried to resynchronise the key (a procedure explained in the owners manual) but this has not worked either.

  I have two and would appreciate any advise: 1. The battery warning light stays on permanantly. I assume this is the alternator ? 2. The abs warning light also stays on permanantly. The main reson for this post is the following question...GIVEN THE PROBABLE NEED FOR COMPUTER BASED DIAGNOSTICS AM I RESTRICTED TO HAVING THE REMEDIAL WORK CARRIED OUT BY A MAIN DEALER ???
