I firs met Rockin' Roy and his '59 Pontiac Bonneville back in 1992, just after he'd bought the car, so it was fantastic to seem him and his car 24 years later, still in the same fine condition. Original 1932 Ford 5 window coupes like this are fetcing well over $40,000 in the USA, so it was great to see this one, slammed at the front and with a perios modded Flathead V8. -

Vintage Adventurer, 70-year old, Rod Wade, along with his and his co-driver Michael Flanders, have set upon an ambitious world record. The pair are to attempt the 2947 mile coast-to-coast drive across the USA in their 1930 Ford Model A in less than 60 hours. -
SEAT extends scrappage scheme 15 Jan 2018 (News)
SEAT's scrappage scheme has been extended until the end of March, which means buyers can save up to £3500 on selected new cars when they trade-in their old diesel. SEAT Scrappage is available on both new petrol and diesel cars and savings start from £1500 for the Mii city car and rise to £2500 for the Ibiza compact hatchback. -
Barn find Bentley doubles its estimate at Beaulieu sale 7 Sep 2015 (News)
A 1929 Bentley 4½-litre, recently unearthed from a family barn after 30 years sold for more than double its estimate at auction over the weekend. The car sailed past its £300,000 estimate at Bonhams sale at the Beaulieu International Autojumble to eventually sell for £695,900. According to Bonhams, the vendor only recently found the car gathering dust in his grandfather’s garage. Rob Hubbard, Bonhams motoring specialist, said, ‘It was an incredible discovery; the chassis, engine, axle, gearbox, steering box numbers are all present and correct, the interior is completely original in wonderful green leather. For a car that’s over 80 years old, it’s truly astounding.’ The vendor’s grandfather purchased the Bentley in 1935 and is known to have used it for family holidays throughout the 1930s and 1940s. -
‘Stolen’ Ford Capri found in lake 10 Jul 2015 (News)
A 1982 Ford Capri that police think may have been stolen has been found at the bottom of a lake in Nottinghamshire. Police recovered the 33-year-old classic car, which was full of sand and home to a family of eels, last week. It was first discovered during a routine weed inspection by staff at the National Water Sports Centre at Holme Pierrepont on Tuesday, 30 June. -

‘This Panda only had three previous owner and these were in the same family,’ says the seller. ‘It even spent some time in Italy which probably helped to preserve it so well.’ It comes with the original service book, hand books both in English and Italian and loads of old MOTs. It’s been rustproofed from new and is pretty solid – but by no means perfect. Early right-hand drive cars like this don’t come up for sale very often, so if this is a good one then it should make a great project for someone. -

Young drivers given safety lesson in Scotland 8 Jul 2008 (News)
Police in Scotland will deliver a road safety message to young car and van drivers in the area at a go-kart track later this month, it has been reported. According to the Aberdeen Press & Journal, Grampian Police will be targeting 17 to 25-year-olds as part of the programme, which will take place at Grampian Karting Club near Banf. -

Retro Classics 2017: Stuttgart show to honour racer Roland Asch 23 Jan 2017 (News)
Now Retro Classics Stuttgart will honour the 66-year-old racer with a special display of his cars at the show, which runs from 2-5 March. Asch, a trained mechanic, began his career in slalom races and hill climbs during the mid-1970s. His first race in the German Touring Car Championship was at Hockenheim in 1984.
