All makes - The future of Company Cars 15 Jun 2017 (Forum)
with all the major manufacturers including Toyota, Lexus, BMW etc leading the way with petrol hybrid models it's interesting to learn that the company car users are reluctant to have their diesels taken off them. Unless you are a city trader living in Maidenhead and travelling to the city wher a hybrid is ideal, the average rep may prefer the certainty of a diesel starting without charging , having a great range and only needs filling up once or twice a week , instead of three times with a large petrol. -

Subaru Legacy - Subaru Legacy (Used). Inspection of Used Car?... 2 Jan 2014 (Forum)
The Subaru Legacy 2.5 Sports Tourer has kind of grabbed me. Or a 3series or A4. Not in consideration; Saab, Volvo, Lexus, Honda, Mazda, Skoda...). Many thanks. -
choosing next car 25 Dec 2011 (Forum)
Requirements : 4 door saloon, reasonably spacious Fast, fun to drive, but reasonable economy Luxurious interior Reliable, up to a year old I have narrowed my shortlist down to : Jag XF 3.0d S portfolio (probably pre facelift, as better value) Merc CLS coupe (new shape) Lexus LS600h (OK, will have to go older to get within budget) Infiniti M hybrid (left field choice, but had a G on a year's lease which I really enjoyed) So far, I have tested the first 2, but not yet the second 2. -
Advice: Best option for next car 22 Aug 2011 (Forum)
However, due to the bad Scottish winter last year I’m considering going for a 4x4 such as BMW X5 (3.0d SE), Volvo XC90 (2.4 D5), Honda CRV (2.2 i-DTDi ES) or Lexus RX400h. Key deciding factors for me are: Very good resale value R easonable fuel economy Lowest possible cost of ownership Automatic SATNAV 4 years maximum age 7-Seater (if available) Which would you recommend? -
Spook's Wheels 10 Dec 2009 (Forum)
On this current bang-bang-shoot-shoot-good-triumphs-over-evil thingy the car allocation is interesting. Good guys - Lexus saloons - image message...solid dependable establishment maybe? Bad guys - Audi Q7s - image message ....dangerous, edge of the law, dirty money perhaps? Good guy ( or girl ) who turns out to be a bad girl - Some japanese hybrid thing, possibly an Insight ? -
Green Police ! 1 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Previously the Metropolitan Police tried electric and liquid propane vehicles, but stopped due to impracticality and reduction in funding; however, the force plans to run four of 70 hydrogen-powered vehicles that will be introduced by the Greater London Authority. As well, the Toyota Lexus RX400h hybrid SUV is currently undergoing trials in the U.K. for full police duty, including patrol and emergency response. I wonder if this will result in lower council tax bills aftere the savings in fuel costs. -
VR-4, Legacy TT or ??? 4 Jan 2006 (Forum)
This may be a contender but I'm not really a fan of the styling. Thoughts so far have been VR-4 (legnum), Legacy Twin Turbo, Toyota Aristo (Lexus GS)? (Very hard to find) or a big engine 5 series. Budget is around 6k. -
change of life (male - late) 26 Feb 2004 (Forum)
Anyone changed their car, and as result, found it changed the driver? After over 20 yrs' driving autos, latter 2 yrs with a Lexus 200 auto, I have managed to find what I'm told is fairly rare 5 door A3 quattro turbo diesel sport, 6-speed, and suddenly I am "driving" again! From being cossetted in a comfortable small limo with rather gutless performance, I'm now rejuvenated (at age 61) by the A3. -
Forte Products 18 Oct 2001 (Forum)
I'm usually a bit wary of these 'snake' oils but I was wondering if anyone here has used it or heard if it's any cop. BTW: I saw Top Gear last night, comparing a Lexus to a Rover is a bit of a mismatch but I would have gone for the Rover anytime. Useless program. Thrashing the Golf TDI was irresponsible, I'm amazed they didn't cause of have an accident. They should rename the program Max D*ckheads. -

Qashqai 2nd gen auto - Is self charging Hybrid better for me? 19 Mar 2024 (Forum)
Considering my usages, do you recommend the 3rd gen mild hybrid Qashqai auto or still think a full hybrid is better say a Toyota. Thought of Lexus hybrid as well but also worried about the flat battery issue as well. -
Next car debate 1 Dec 2017 (Forum)
Cars I have been looking at are a very mixed bag 1) MB S Class 2) BMW 7 series 3) BMW 5 GT Series 4) Audi A6 Avant 5) Audi A8 6) Lexus GS300h Yes I'm not asking for much lol. But for me what I'm looking to spend is a lot for me and I want to get the most for my money (as we all do) -
Upgrading to an older model? Am I crazy!? 8 Aug 2016 (Forum)
I'm wondering whether buying a 2005 model is still a reasonable investment. I'm aware that Lexus are reliable cars and really I'm after an upgrade on my 2008 ford fiesta. Is it madness to buy a car that is 3 years older than my current car? -
Infiniti Ex30d - Manufactrers Warranty 15 Jun 2014 (Forum)
Hi all Just bought a 2011 Infiniti Ex30d in great condition......apart from the alloys are "bubbling" I've had this problem before with Mazda and Lexus, anyway the Infiniti still has the original warranty to the 12th June. I checked with the previous owner who said he hadn't even noticed. I have booked the car into Infiniti Reading for an outstanding warranty issue and at the same time I brought up the alloy issue which wasn't exactly met with any enthusiasm, I was told that it was unusual and that if anything had been done to the alloys there would be no question of warranty work. -
Changing my car, but which one? 23 Feb 2009 (Forum)
I want a more fuel efficient car that I can put the miles on and don't really want to spend more than my trade-in plus a couple of hundred quid. Looked at a BMW 118d or Lexus 220d but I'm not sure they're quite in my price range. Does anyone have any suggestions? For the first time I'm really not sure what to be looking at... -
Is200 - Baby on the way - What Next? 12 Jan 2009 (Forum)
With a budget of only 10K I'm having real difficulty finding something rear wheel drive that's under 2 litres with decent driving dynamics & the total reliability of the Lexus. (We've owned an e46, e39 & e34 (and test driven the current 5 series) but the missus couldn't get a comfortable driving position in any of them so that rules out BMW Tourings. The Is200 estate isn't much bigger than the saloon - so that's out too). -
BMW - customer contact program or packages 15 May 2008 (Forum)
The purpose with this research is to evaluate how manufactures of luxury products confirm or welcome their customers in connection to sales and to identify how this creates value for the costumers. My questions are: -Do the brands BMW, Audi, honda, Lexus and mercedez-Benz have any kind of ?customer contact programme? that welcomes customers as new car owners? -If yes, what is this package/programme comprised of? -Do the packages differ between car models?
