  Can anyone offer me some advice as to the standard of paint job/matching I will get at a BMW body shop as opposed to an independent?  I know that very much depends on the standard of the independent but generally speaking is it better to take it to a dealer in terms of the quality of work done?

  Looking to downsize to a smaller car that actually fits in a parking space (try parking a Mondeo size vehicle in Tesco). I have narrowed the choice down to a BMW 120d VW Golf VII 2.0Tdi or an Audi A3 2.0 Tdi. Have had a run yesterday in a 12od and really liked it. Has anyone here run one of the new shape ones for a fair length of time? I will do around 70,000 miles in three years and need a reliable vehicle.

  It has not been involved in any accident or impact and yet the REAR alloys are cracked and in need of replacement. BMW are blaming the state of the UK roads and wont do anything about it. My point is that they should build a car that can cope with local conditions; or modify it as they change. I am astonished at the (polite) couldnt care less attitude of BMW, but I wondered - has anyone else had to arge this with BMW UK?

  Can anybody beat £3205 as the cost of selecting DAB radio as an option on a new car? I am interested in the new BMW 5 Series Touring. I configured it and selected a DAB radio (£310).  That was fine but, in order to get DAB it also adds in the TV function (£850) and Navigation System-BMW Professional Multimedia (£2045).

  bmw 328 ci coupe 2000 w reg, my battery went dead for my fault, jumped the car with jumpleads, started straight up, but now my power steering does not work and you cant hear the power steering noise and can only just about turn steering wheel, i want to know is there a fuse or relay that runs it that i can look at before i look at the pump, i have checked the fuses in glovebox but they are all ok, are there any more fuses to try ????

  Does BMW have a relibaility/durability/ problem. First it was failed turbos, then swirl flaps in the inlet manifold, what is the point of paying premium money and not getting premium quality, thier auto gear box's if not serviced properly will also fail if the the so called sealed for life auto box fluid is not changed.

  The car is a 1998 318 coupe. Would the local keycutting shop be able to supply one or will it have to be purchased from BMW and synced to the car? If it is from the main dealer than what should i expect to pay? 2) I have a alarm fob but this does not lock/unlock the car. At first i thought the battey may be a little weak, so i replaced this.

  Hello, I am considering selling my BMW 328I Sport. It is in excellent condition and has ESR, Sport pack - including 17inch alloys, bmw bodykit, 1/2 leather sport seats, 6 stack cd system, recent michelin pilot sport tyres (£190 a piece).

  I've just bought a Sept 2004 BMW 530d SE. It's great, but I've noticed that the radiator grille is black - aren't the 6 cylinders meant to have a chrome grille? Anyone know? Wondering if the car has been front-ended previously.

  A BMW dealer has checked my ‘chipped’ ignition key and confirms the mileage of 19,949. But I’m not sure if the key derives its data from the odometer or from the engine management system.
