"According to the research, BMW Group contributed £1bn directly to the UK economy in 2004"
"We are grateful, we are happy, to be part of UK PLC,"

And business confidence here in Germany is the highest it´s been for 14 years, apparently.
So why hasn´t anyone given me a raise...?

While it may have contributed £1Bn towards wealth generation (investment in production, and export of minis and engines), I'm sure it has extracted many times more than that on car imports to the UK, that is wealth extraction.

I'm sure someone far cleverer than me can work it out,but with the BMW example there are many other factors to consider, wages for people delivering the cars, tax, vat, salesmans wages, tech staff, finance charges etc, etc. All this contributes money to the UK economy.

I don't agree, because they are all paid by money already in the UK economy, it is just movement of funds within the UK economy.
Just as pop music doesn't 'generate' wealth, at best it can only import it from elsewhere. generally, the only things that generate capital wealth are extraction of raw materials and production of tangible goods, these last two things have seen a huge demise in the UK, and the West in general.

Money generates money, always has, and has been the prime generator of UK wealth since the 1800's

Money isn't the same as wealth. Money doesn't really exist, you should know that!
