Sounds like a major glitch with the tracker software - it may have assumed that tilt movement while locked meant it had been stolen so activated.

I had a similar problem with the tilt detector on my 2000 Vauxhall on the Aberdeen-Lerwick ferry but that just set the alarm off!

Surely the police can tell the difference between a car anti-theft signal and a proper rescue beacon. If not, I hope I never get lost at sea or they'll be sending the AA.
