Audi unveils hydrogen powered h-tron quattro concept 11 Jan 2016 (News)
The Audi h-tron quattro concept SUV uses a hydrogen fuel cell and lithium-ion battery to cover up to 372 miles on a single tank and can be refuelled in four minutes. The four-wheel drive h-tron quattro takes it power from a 110kW fuel cell, but can be boosted by a 100kW battery to produces more than 300PS and 550Nm of torque. -
Smartwatch for drivers launch by Nissan 9 Sep 2013 (News)

A light strip running between the A-pillars, dubbed the ID. Light, will provide information to the driver. This includes an indication of battery charge level, notifying them of an incoming phone call or recommending when to change lanes. Toyota states there is no other car on the UK market that exactly matches the benefits offered by its Prius Plug-in Hybrid Synergy Drive full hybrid powertrain: it offers the near-silent, zero emissions performance of an electric vehicle, being able to run on its lithium-ion battery for around 15.5 miles (v/s 30 miles for the Ampera) and at speeds up to 51mph. New plug-in Prius to arrive in UK mid 2010 15 Dec 2009 (News)
Called a plug-in version of the third-generation Prius petrol-electric hybrid vehicle, the auto is said to offer a greater range on the battery. It is also the first for Toyota to use lithium-ion batteries, which can be charged from an external source in addition as by the car's own hybrid drive system. Executive vice-president Takeshi Uchiyamada said: "Based on Toyota's full hybrid powertrain, PHV represents today the most practical way of increasing the use of electricity for personal transport. -

Dyson scraps electric car project 10 Oct 2019 (News)
In 2017, Dyson committed to spending £1 billion on developing battery technology to power the new EV, with a further £1 billion set aside on designing the prototype. It's thought that some 500 people had already begun research and development work on the car, with prototypes thought to be in the early stages of testing. However, according to a report by the BBC, Sir James Dyson has sent an email to employees this week saying the car was not "commercially viable" and the company had failed to find a buyer for the project.
