  Looking for a cheap new or nearly new runabout for SWMBO. Will be used for only a minimal mileage per day but due to her working hours needs a reliable car.   My horn has stopped working on my 2001 Honda Civic. First ever problem with the car. My three year old daughter has taken a great interest telling unsuspecting people that Dad's car has no beep beep ! I have failed my children ! Any advice on what it could be and how easy it is to fix would be welcome.

  We've got an old L reg Xantia as a spare car. We have the radio code and the radio asks for it every few days. However i've loaned the car to my uncle while he's over from Spain and he's managed to put the wrong code in!

  I am currently looking at a Ford Focus estate for a new company car and have a few questions Why has Ford appeared to have replaced the PSA 1.6 diesel with the old 1.8 ? (I know this has been covered in a topic on the C-Max recently but if anyone knows any more it would be much appreciated as I have a mental scar with Ford diesels dating back 10 years to my first company car, a 1.8d Escort) How will either engine compare to the 1.9 Tdi 105 ?

  Bright 'luxurious' interior (cream or light grey leather ideal) 7. Reasonable running costs. 8. Max £10k - if used, max 3 years old. I can't think of anything that comes close. My Yaris scores well on 1, 2, 4, 7, and 8, but poorly on the others. Most cars that score well on 3, 5 and 6 are too big. Any ideas?

  Freiends car, 2 years old (so warranty still available when back in UK). It has developed an infrequent habit (2-3 times per week) of opening all windows after having been locked and left standing. (In the same location).

  I need 3 new tyres on my car. I have narrowed it down to Toyo Proxes T1-R in a 205/50/R15 size. Two questions... 1. I have a Pirelli P6000 on the rear nearside which is a couple of months old and does not need replacing. Is it advisable to have one (Toyo) directional tyre on one side and the non-directional Pirelli on the other of the same axle?

  Hi, Could anybody help me out, l purchased a BMW 320d SE Tourer last year, on a 54 plate, l bought it 7 months old with 6000 miles on the clock, and since then l have noted it seems to use about 3/4 of a litre of oil per 2000 miles. Is this the correct oil consumption, for this type of car, as it seems excessive to me.

  Just done a six month oil change on my daughters 1.4 Corsa (first one I have done as car is only 18 months old). Lots of creamish brown foam in the oil filler. Some sites list posible cause as HGF ! ! ! Car has done less than 3k in 18 months and generally on short runs (2 miles). Will this be the cause or is there a bigger issue I need to look for (or get Vauxhall to look for)?

  Hi all, The plip on my 306 S16 1995 was slowly become more of a hassle to open the car.....you had to play with it on the windscreen...eventally it stopped working from the outside, but did when you were in the car. My thoughts....battery...right, replaced the batteries, now it will not work at all.

  Hi How important is the 3-year/36k miles cambelt change interval as stipulated in HJ's car-by-car breakdown? I ask because a friend has just bought one at 5 years old (V-reg) and 38,000 miles. He does not know the service history, so I am presuming the belt hasn't been changed. He is getting a service done this year by the selling garage, but would like to keep the belt change until next year.
• Volvo V40 air recirculation flap servo 20 Feb 2005 (Forum)
  The air recirculation flap on my V40 has recently jammed when switching from recyled air to fresh, causing the servo motor to click loudly until switched back to recyled air. It's not a problem with only one person in the car, but my wife and I have three children under 4 years old and when we're all in the car it fogs up. To fix the problem properly is an expensive procedure involving the removal of the facia. Has anyone else else experienced this problem and, if so, are there any shortcuts to opening the flap on the fresh air and disconnecting the motor, or at least stopping the clicking?

  I bought a three year old Ford Mondeo TDdi Ghia X from a dealer 14 days ago. At the time I made my concerns clear regarding a mistake in the logbook - it stated the car was a 4 door sallon Ghia - when infact it's a 5 door hatch Ghia X.

  I have a company car which is a three year old 150 bhp diesel golf gti with 108 k on the clock. It was serviced about three weeks ago and about two weeks later a shuddering noise developed which transpired to be a broken camshaft.
