  • 2001 peugeot 206 1.4i - engine managment light 13 Jul 2013 (Forum)
i own a 2001 peugeot 206 1.4i , i was driving it along the road all fine then the eml ( engine managment light ) came on and the car was also running a bit rough , so i did the wise one to make sure that what i thought was wrong with the was right and called the rac , the rac arrived ask what went wrong so i told the mechanic so then he went to his van and brought out a brand new ignition coil pack and swapped mine for the new one , but the car still running rough and the eml was still flashing so the rac man ran a diagnotic test and the test turned up with a problem which i thought , the injectors , so i drove home stripped out the injectors refurbed them by cleaning them with petrol toothbrush and a needle ialso used a woman's emery board to sand the wire conection's on the back of the injectors and replaced all the rubber gromets due to 2 of them being perished and one being split , i then rebuilt the injector rail and refitted it to the car started the car and the car was running sweet but now the eml was on constant so i purchsed my own dianostic machine switched off the eml ran a dianostic test and everything is now really sweet and no more problems . i thought i would share this for anyone that has a pug 206 .
  • Peugeot 206 - Mileage issue 27 Mar 2013 (Forum)
Hi I bought a Peugeot 206 on 15th March 2013. The advert (ebay) said: "I put second hand speedo clock on it as the existing one stopped working it shows150,000 miles but has only done 85,000 miles". He had the car a year and had no paperwork (MOTs etc) from the previous owner.

  • Ford Focus - buying a new car after DPF problems on peugeot 307 25 Oct 2011 (Forum)
my boyfriend and i have recently been quoted £633 to repair the DPF on our 04' peugeot 307 2.0 HDi, long story short, the car isnt worth fixing, we only paid £1000 for it as the miliage is very high, it was ment to be more of a stepping stone whilst we saved for a better car, now we will just have to take out a car on finance anyway!
  • Peugeot 306 Engine problems 25 Jun 2011 (Forum)
Hi, I own a 98 (R) Peugeot 306 1.6 Vivant Hatch with 131,000 on the clock. The car is relatively reliable considering the mileage. A couple of things annoy me though and i wonder if you could help. 1. The engine is producing a lot of tappet noise when cold and when warm, never goes away.
  • Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 97 1.8 Driver's seat slide mechanism (3 door hatch 14 Jul 2010 (Forum)
I examined the slide mechanism and would guess that it is the annodised (brass coloured) sliding/locking bit, but it could also be the fixed rack, which looks like it could be worn (but so does the passenger seat, which doesn't move). Any suggestions before I part with my life savings at the local workshop? Peugeot and proud (and going to be spending next weekend unblocking drains, changing various door seals, membranes and whatever thanks to other tips found here!)
  • Peugeot 405 Petrol - noisy valve 28 Jun 2010 (Forum)
Here some people tell me its very easy, u only need to fine tune the valves. Then, Some other people tell me that peugeot 405 has auto tuning valves which does not require fine tuning and probably need to be replaced and that in this case i will have to replace all 4 of them. (that, i can not afford by the way :-) Also there is another theory, that somene told me i only need to take them to be polished (cleaned) and then it will be fine again.
  • Peugeot 406 (1999 - 2004) - written off options 11 Nov 2009 (Forum)
iam currently in the process of having my car assessed for repair as a non fault claim. the fault driver originally wanted to pay for my car to be repaired to avoid affecting his long no claims. after getting a number of quotes from countless body shops the average seemed to be around the £1,200 mark, needless to say the fault driver quickly changed his mind and opted for the insurance route. at this point i am still waiting to here back from the insurance assessor regarding his valuation of repair. it has taken a while and iam now worried that they may go down the right off route due to the age of the car. the car in question is a 1999 Peugeot 406 T.D with 66.000 miles and a full service history. which in my mind is still a serviceable vehicle with a hell of alot more motoring and miles ahead of it. regardless of this though most people I've spoken to about this have stated that it will probably be written off by the assessor due to its age.

  • Peugeot 205 (1983 - 1997) - 91 1.6 Swapping the standard speedo for a GTi one? 27 Jul 2009 (Forum)
Hi, A question for anyone who knows... My peugeot 205 XL has a standard clock unit, on the left hand side is an Analogue clock, in the middle is the speedo and on the right of the clock face is the Fuel Gauge, with all the warning lights above in a row...
  • Peugeot Partner Combi (2001 - 2004) - 03 2.0HDI Poor Economy / Low Power 29 Jun 2009 (Forum)
I have recently purchased a 2003 Peugeot Partner 2.0 HDI (90), and having now filled the tank up twice, I'm beginning to think maybe the car isn't performing as well as it should be. Economy on a long steady 70 to 80mph run came out at 38mpg.
  • Peugeot 307 (2001 - 2007) - 04 1.6 110hdi squeak / chirp on startup / clutch 2 May 2009 (Forum)
The car has covered 96K miles, always serviced on the dot, and had the DMF and clutch replaced at 93K after failure (peugeot main dealer, it was my father's company car). Otherwise a nice car (apart from the blasted fan running on when stopped). What kind of thing could I be looking at here? Also, I was very surprised when I asked the garage and they told me the cambelt isn't due til 144K or something equally implausible - my 2000 406 90HDI was every 80K!

  • Peugeot 406 (1996 - 1998) - 1996 1.9 Engine Management Warning light 5 Jan 2009 (Forum)
Hello, I'm searching for any suggestions on what might be going on with my old 406 (1996, diesel) without having to go to a peugeot dealer. I have an intermittent fault that is rapidly becoming less intermittent and pretty dangerous - orange engine management warning light comes on with a big "stop" sign. The dangerous part is the accompanying loss of power, steering, brakes, the lot, when I'm slowing down and the clutch is in.
  • Peugeot 307 (2001 - 2007) - HDi Pollution fault 17 Jul 2008 (Forum)
I have a peugeot 307hdi20 style 90 It has 80k on it. You can drive it for a week and the next thing it goes into limp mode, shows up pollution fault and reduced rev to 1500. If i let the car sit for 15 seconds then start it again all warning lights go out, the car will then start and it will continue to run ok with plenty of power.
  • Peugeot 206 SW (2002 - 2006) - Most efficient/economical driving style 24 Jun 2008 (Forum)
In the last two years (after 2 speeding convictions) I had been observing a 2,000rpm limit which transformed the mpg's from c40mpg to c60mpg. Last month I bought a Peugeot 206SW (2006 model) which has what I understand to be one of PSA's best diesels, a 1.6 turbo. The stats told me that the car was a bit lighter than the Megane, had 10% more bhp, a slightly smaller frontal area and 300 less cc's.
