• Dealer Used Car Problem - Help Required! 3 Feb 2004 (Forum)
  My partner bought a used Renault Megane from an authorised Renault dealer a few months ago. The car was less than a year old when she bought it. Sinc ehaving it shes had all sort of problems with it and it's been in and out of the dealership a number of times.

  While my Audi is out of action, I have borrowed a nearly new Renault Espace from work, and I am struggling to make sense of it. Certainly it appears to have lots of space inside, but much of it is between the steering wheel and the windscreen, where you can't store things.

  I am thinking about buying a used Renault Captur as I had one as a hire car on holiday a couple of years ago and enjoyed driving it.  So, I’m thinking about getting a diesel one, maybe a 2016 or 2017 model.  I see there are two choices, a 90bhp 5-speed manual gearbox or the 110ps with the 6-speed gearbox.

  Hi, I have a 2000 MK1 Renault Scienic - (So not the models that are supposed to have fuse/loom faults). My problem is the fan keeps cutting out (I have put a tell lamp in parralel so I know the fan is fine, but the power keeps getting stepped down or turned off by the control system.

  As its a 400 mile round trip I want van to be as economical as possible and comfortable. I believe Enterprise would more than likely have a Renault Master and Thrifty would be either a Mercedes or VW but I could be wrong!

  Looking for the best all round generic diagnostic tool, I have OBD2 dongle with phone ap but does not seem much good. I have electrical problems across my personal fleet Renault Kangoo 1.9, VW Sharan 1.9TD and Landrover Discovery TD5. Coming up for retirement I would like some equipment which i can use on any vehicle as this is ab bit of a hoby as well as a chore.

  I am disabled and drive an automatic car a Renault Meganne. This car will need to be replaced in the near future. After my recent icy weather experience i am considering buying a 4x4. I do not have to pay car tax i could get an automatic on motability but the downpayments are huge.

  Serviced in July by Nationwide Autocentre; does this test need Peugeot diagnostics? {moved to a stand alone post, away from the Renault Scenic posting}

  On my way to work last week, I noticed a very souped up & badly modified Renault Clio had gone nose down into a ditch by the side of the road (no loss there then). On my return journey I saw that the vehicle was still by the side of the road, and that there were now stickers on the windows.

  So far, I've discounted an Almera (timing chain and want something newer) and I've got cold feet about a Grand Punto. Noe looking at Renault Modus (the Nissan Note is considerably more expensive) and a fairly high spec C3 (VTR?). Opinions and horror stories welcome. Budget £5-6000

  My dad's thinking of changing his Toyota Corolla for a new Nissan Quashqai. Does anyone know if the 1.6litre petrol engine is a Nissan or a Renault engine and whether it has any known problems? I know it's still very new but are there any other known problems with this vehicle? I have read HJ's CBC breakdown. I'm hoping the horror story told there is down to pre-production / early production quality control issues that are now sorted out.

  Every parent wants to do the best for their children, so what's the modern equivalent of these fine books? My son isn't going to get very far with my 1981 edition unless we visit the Renault 12 owners club rally! I'm sure someone out there will know what I need to look for? Gareth

  We decided we wanted to hire a car and I have found the best deal on a 1.4 Dacia Logan... the cheap as chips Renault for the developing world. Anyone driven one? I am sure it's not earth-shatteringly exciting but it hasn't had bad reviews. Plus, more importantly, it's cheap to hire!! : ) We are aiming to go Bucharest - Sibiu - Targa Mures - who knows after that.

  I know this particular model rarely goes on long journeys,work is about 1.5 miles away, and that journey is done 4 times a day. It's a Silver grey Renault 16 convertible 16 V, Y reg with just 32k on the clock, very good condition new tax and mot Guess the price ??

  Ok,the Renault and us are about to part company, we have owned it for nearly 4 years, but it is getting long in the tooth and we need something bigger that will carry more kids. As a result we have just agreed to buy a V reg Shuttle, 64k on the clock and it comes with 2yr 10months of a Platinum Warranty Works warranty with it.

  Morning Chaps, I've got about £3,400 and My R-reg renault Clio 1.2RN to trade in, so I reckon thats about 4k to spend on getting a new car. I've had a good look on Autotrader and have narrowed my cars down to a Mondeo, Astra or Focus all around the x-reg mark with upto 40,000 miles on the clock.

  Are Honda engines OK for Conversion?? Any Horror Stories relating to Honda Engines and LPG. I changed from a 1.6RT Renault Scenic that had an old Gas conversion on it (Non Injection type)and had problems that were quite costly. any information would be greatly appreciated

  Suzuki Swift - Only a quick glimpse as one went the other way but it looked pretty enough. Seat Toledo - Looked like the love child of an original Merc A Class and a Renault Vel Satis. Not a good combination. Has anyone else seen anything new recently?

  Mind you they'll probably close the entire factory then :-( More interesting (perhaps) is that on French tv news the other day Renault said that sales of the new Modus have fallen sharply and are not living up to post-launch expectations. The factory in Portugal is going to slow production. Over-priced models? Overly-niche? Or simply further proof of over-production of cars in the world?

  My Vauxhall dealer said he's never seen one like it before (after he'd stopped laughing). I've not seen anything like it on the road (except in a few Renaults). Anyone else heard of this ?
