Worst performer, Alfa Romeo 166, retained just 12 per cent of its value after three years. The Yaris powered 1.4 MINI One diesel is the UKs slowest-depreciating used car, according to new analysis of the residual values of three-year-old vehicles carried out by EurotaxGlass's, publisher of Glass's Guide. It currently has an average trade-in value of 63.2 per cent, better than that of any other used car currently on sale. -

New £2000 diesel scrappage scheme set to be announced 20 Apr 2017 (News)
Any vehicles that don't comply with the Euro 4 (petrol) and Euro 6 (diesel) standards will be required to pay £12.50 on top of the congestion charge. The rules effectively mean that petrol cars over ten years old and diesel cars more than two years old in 2017 will not comply when the scheme is introduced in 2019. The new taxes hope to lower NOx emissions by 50 per cent in 2020, but will bring the cost of driving a non-compliant car in central London to £24 per day. -
