  The Giveacar competition, “Scrap is Beautiful”, called for images of vehicles past their best, which could be scrapped and the proceeds donated to charity.   Renault joins list of manufacturers with scrappage discounts 1 Sep 2017 (News)
  Renault will give owners of pre-2010 cars £2000 towards a new car if they scrap their old one. In conjunction with other discounts, car buyers can save up to £5200 and van buyers as much as £7000. The car traded in must have been registed to the owner for more than 90 days and must have emissions of Euro 4 standard or earlier.

  UK law must be consistent with European regulations and the United Nations too. The delay is unavoidable, but the safety of children in cars is our prime consideration." The new law means all children up to the age of 12-year old or 125cm tall must travel in an E-marked booster seat with a back. For children between 126cm and 135cm in height, they can use a booster cushion with no backrest, but this type of seat is being phased out and will only be on sale for a limited period after the change in the law comes into force.
