Giveacar photo-competition Winner announced 19 Dec 2011 (News)
The Giveacar competition, “Scrap is Beautiful”, called for images of vehicles past their best, which could be scrapped and the proceeds donated to charity. Renault will give owners of pre-2010 cars £2000 towards a new car if they scrap their old one. In conjunction with other discounts, car buyers can save up to £5200 and van buyers as much as £7000. The new law means all children up to the age of 12-year old or 125cm tall must travel in an E-marked booster seat with a back. For children between 126cm and 135cm in height, they can use a booster cushion with no backrest, but this type of seat is being phased out and will only be on sale for a limited period after the change in the law comes into force.
