Honda Jazz/Fit (2008 - ) - EX model - unusual tyre size 8 Sep 2009 (Forum)
Choice seems to be very limited and I, if I recall correctly, the same issue affects some models of Nissan Note. Anyone know if these more unusual sizes are likely to appear from other manufacturers over time? -
Depreciating assets 1 Sep 2009 (Forum)
Also models from quite a few other manufacturers feature in the bottom 10 - including Proton, Mitsubishi and Nissan - and none of these achieves a residual value better than 25 per cent. All from glasses of the values of all three-year-old cars available in the UK - over 6,500 model ranges in total. mmmmm makes you think -
Vauxhall Vectra B (1995 - 1999) - 1998 1.8 Boot Space! 16 Feb 2009 (Forum)

Any help on this would be appreciated thanks. -
Dumbest modified car you've seen 10 Sep 2008 (Forum)
Every time I see it have visions of the owner trying to sell it, and potential purchaser asking to look in the boot. Also keep seeing a Volvo 440 with twin 'spud launcher' exhausts, and an old Nissan Almera resprayed the same colour as David Dickinson with ott bodykit and huge spoilers. -
MPG ready reckoner? 19 Feb 2008 (Forum)
Does anyone know of an easy way of working out annual fuel costs based on average mpg? I want to work out how much, say, a Nissan X-Trail would cost per year in diesel compared with a big estate like a Ford Mondeo. I would be upgrading from a Ford Focus diesel estate so I know everything will be more expensive on either car (though insurance and purchase price of either would be v similar - just more tax on the XT) Thanks in advance.... -
Japannese car/truck sales in Japan Fall 8 Jan 2008 (Forum)
Figures from the Japan Automobile Dealers Association showed sales of cars, trucks and buses down 7.6% from the previous year at 3.4 million. Daihatsu was the worst off with sales slumping almost 50%, followed by Nissan whose sales fell 9.7%. Overall Toyota sales fell 6% though sales of its Lexus marque rose. The figures exclude 660cc minivehicles. Is this an omen for UK sales? -
Thinking of ending love affair (with Boxster) 20 Nov 2007 (Forum)
I love the image of the car & the way it drives etc but I'm wondering (semi-seriously this time) whether I should quickly part-ex it for an Audi TT 225 (convertible if poss)/ A3 3.2 / Nissan 350z (import) at about 4-5 years old with 40k-60k miles on - question is, will these be more in line with my needs for paranoia-free reliable motoring, or is any performance car at 5 years old likely to throw up expensive issues? -
JD Power survey 2007 results 19 May 2007 (Forum)
Ford is the Fusion. 2) Merc A-Class beats every single Subaru. 3) In the manufactuer's league table, Jaguar beats Audi, BMW, Mercedes, & Volvo . . . and they all beat Subaru (who are in the middle of the table with Nissan, Kia, and Ford.) -
Mazda RX-8: reliable second hand buy? 23 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Bearing in mind I do 20,000 miles a year, I fully accept the high fuel and oil costs but I am not hoping the RX-8 will run to 150k without major engine work required, like my Nissan QX and Mondeo TDCi. Many thanks, Gazza -
Lidl Winergy 15W/40 motor oil 23 Jan 2007 (Forum)
It's rated as API SJ so presumably suitable for the engine and the handbook says you can use 15W/40 in ambient temps between -20 and +40 deg. C. My concern is that 15W is a bit viscous so maybe not giving the best cold start protection. Nissan's own oil, which I normally use, is rated 10W/30 and last time it cost me £12 for 5 litres. The car's done 78k if that's relevant. Thanks in advance, Scott -
Theft of stereo front... 2 Jan 2007 (Forum)
My Nissan Micra got broken into on Boxing day outside my house and I didn't know a thing until I went to get into it to go to work. Thankfully no damage but I know I locked it yet someone had got in taken my car stereo or at least they took the removable front fascia. -

Back box replaced prematurely? 20 Jun 2006 (Forum)
Today SWMBOs Nissan Almera was treated to a new exhust. £115 bought a backbox and a mid section with 1 years warranty. However on removal of the backbox I noticed it wasn't holed, just that the interface flange was rusty and holes were starting to appear around it, but not in the pipe itself. -
HJ Jeep Commander Road Test 14 May 2006 (Forum)
HJ suggests that the new Jeep Commander is better that the Nissan Pathfinder and would take it over a Disco3 unless he had to carry seven full size people. Fair enough. He then went to say that it was definately better than a Hyundai Sante Fe. I think that not so fair. -
Primera 1.6 1997 hesitates 20 Jan 2006 (Forum)
The misfire was improved some time ago by wd-40 in the dizzy cap. I have recently fitted a new cap and rotor bought from Nissan - Had trouble finding a copy. The hesitation remains. I am living with it at the moment by driving under 3500 rpm. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks Ian -

Importing a Skyline from Japan 28 Oct 2004 (Forum)
I am toying with the idea of importing a Nissan Skyline from Japan - probably around 7-8 year old example. Has anyone done a self-import? I would be interested in first-hand accounts. I've found a company on the web (www.autoadvan.co.uk) - seem to be based in Leicester - who will act as an auction agent in Japan for a few hundred pounds. -
6K 'new' Micra - good deal? 9 Mar 2004 (Forum)
My local Nissan dealer has a number of 'new' Micras (3 door, 'E' spec) - actually with up to 800 miles on, but all unmarked and on 03 plates. They're priced at £5995 (+ extra for metallic) Problem is, the dealer can't seem to explain how it comes about that these cars have so little mileage and why he has so many (6). -
Not only A to B 12 Dec 2003 (Forum)
The bottom line for using a car is will it get there without breaking down, and probably second will it be beset by electrical and mechanical niggles/ faults during the period of ownership. All the reliability surveys seem to say buy Japanese. Last weekend I rented a Nissan Almera 1.4S for a couple of days. This was the worst car I've driven; terrible ride, unsettled by every minor undulation in the road, indifferent gear change and engine, poor rear interior space etc It's the only car I've driven which made this driver feel carsick as well as the passengers.
