Buying Japanese Imports 9 Aug 2004 (Forum)
I am thinking of buying a nissan skyline gtr-32 and was wondering what I had to make sure had been done to the car in terms of making it completely legal to drive on UK roads. The one I am looking at has been in the UK for some time but is there anything I should look out for? -
Micra K12 service reset serv-manual 7 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Secondly, as there is not yet a Haynes book for it, does anyone know of a service CD, or something else of reasonable cost? Ebay shows only a Nissan service parts CD. No advice to take it to a garage please. -
Slush boxes and caravans 15 Dec 2003 (Forum)
My uncle is a keen caravanner but is getting on a bit and fancies an automatic. There is a Nissan Silvia on offer that he likes. This is a 1.8 auto and a small car. He owns a small 2 berth caravan but it is very old (and so)heavy. I think this is madness. I do not believe that autos and caravans mix in any case as you do not have the control you need. -
Fast car for around £4k 21 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Practicality is not really an issue as he has a second sensible family car, and has recently changed employers allowing him to walk to work. My first thought was a Nissan 200SX- I wondered if people here had any opinions and suggestions? -

Do u have to pay monthly fees or anything like that, i know i would have to buy a map cd but does anyone have a rough idea on how much they are? -
Ugly cars 31 Dec 2002 (Forum)
A couple of examples of how not to design a new car: New Vectra - I can only compare its back end to the human equivalent of a 20 stone woman in jogging bottoms, and what the hell is that chrome strip low on the tailgate all about? Nissan Primera - I like my creases to run down the middle of trousers, not the middle of the entire length of my car! I await for the owners of these vehicles to spring to their defence, please understand I am only giving my own personal opinion! -
SEAT Alhambra - Insurance premiums! How much has your gone up? 26 Feb 2024 (Forum)
This week our current insurer Direct Line has sent us a renewal . Nissan Micra 2007 up 63% , set Alhambra 2016 up 52% . We have more than 9 years no claims... Comparison websites have shown similar if not more expensive increases. Excess offered at over 50% of the original cost of the premium. -
Makers warranty obligations 15 Jan 2024 (Forum)
Today's Times tells me that Ha1fords have done research connected with the need to use dealer servicing during a warranty, saying that the law states otherwise, and that independent garages offer an equal service much more cheaply - about 80% less in the case of a Nissan exhaust, one of their examples. We all know this on here, plus the fact that Ha1fords are clearly not disinterested. No harm in spreading the message though. They claim that a large minority of owners believe the obligation continues after expiry, which I am not sure about ... -
Help with a decision 23 Mar 2017 (Forum)
I am after a spacious, economical and reliable car . I will be traveling on average of 120miles a week . I have narrowed my choice to a Nissan Tino . I have found a car that I am interested in and was wondering if you someone could give me an opinion . I am told that I would need to buy a new battery and another worry is that the MOT is due very soon . -
Volkswagen Polo - How much is a 92 VW polo worth? 19 May 2016 (Forum)
I recently purchased a K reg Volkswagen Polo with 23,000 miles on ( was owned by an old lady) it's in a okay condition has some rust, definetly needs a paint job and some new break pads. Someone has offered to buy it off me for £150 and a 2001 nissan micra with 60,000 miles. How much would this car be worth or could be worth in the future? Just want to know if im getting a good deal. -
Primera - condensation in rear light... 22 Apr 2016 (Forum)
The car is my son's freshly acquired 2000W Nissan Primera S. It's in gleaming red and at £2495 (50,000mls) looks like a good buy. Just one tiny niggle: I wonder if anyone else has experienced condensation inside the rear-light cover - in particular the bootlid-mounted reversing light? -
Suzuki Swift - Suzuki Swift 7 Feb 2016 (Forum)
Thinking of changing my K13 Nissan Micra by the end of the year and for all this has been an economical, reliable enough car, there isn't much pleasure in driving it. The dealer is also a Suzuki dealer and I quite like the latest shape Swift as it looks funkier and drives better than the Micra, with similar running costs and five doors. -
Kia Sorento - Change from X-Trail to 7 seat kIA Sorento 26 Jan 2015 (Forum)
We are thinking of replacing our Nissan X-Trail 2003 model with 105k miles as it is getting a bit long in the tooth and we need to go to a 7 seater. We fancy a Kia Sorento 2.2 2011/12 model KX2 standard. Can you see any problems with this plan, in particular does it have DPF issues and does it have a belt or chain? -
What 4x4 best suits? 6 Jul 2011 (Forum)
we live 4 miles up crazy mountrain track in spain, and currently have a 1991 nissan patrol. with a baby coming, we want to upgrade our 4x4; something more comfy, better and faster on the roads.....but tough off road with low ratio too. short wheel base better but not too important. -
Honda Jazz- 1.2 or 1.4? 18 Sep 2010 (Forum)
The only thing I could consider the 1.4 for is maybe it would have a little more overtaking power, although a top speed of 110 mph( about the same as my Nissan has now) would suggest the 1.2 is no slug. -
Bangs for your buck - used performance bargains. 13 Feb 2009 (Forum)
I think there are a few undiscovered gems that would make great weekend cars for bangernomics money. How about the Peugeot 306 xsi or the Nissan Primera GT? Both are highly rated by those who have driven them and good examples are little more than £1k. Are there any other examples of cars that can provide such cheap thrills? The quirkier the better! -
Honda Civic UK (2001 - 2005) - Replacing my Civic 15 Jan 2009 (Forum)
Looking to change my 2002 Civic Max, 100,000 miles and getting a bit rattly, for something 2-3 years old and similar size/economy. Hate the new Civics so it won't one of those! Considering a Jazz or Nissan Note, any other contenders I should be considering that will be reliable, economical and will cope with 3 adults and 2 grandchildren on short trips and 2 adults only for longer journeys. Thanks Hugh -
CVT and longer term reliability 17 Jun 2008 (Forum)
I thought the Merc A and B class autos were Autotronic CVT's and don't recall negative feedback. Also hear that the Nissan owned JATCO plant in Mexico is tooling up to produce 800,000 CVT boxes this year. Where's the problem or weakness? Cheers. >> Any takers? -
05 Almera, window seals squeezed out 2 Aug 2007 (Forum)
To date, I have had the seals replaced a few times, the regulator replaced and channel clips adjusted. Nissan main dealer is unable to come up with a cause or a solution. The car is 1998cc and year 2005. Thank you Tweaked subject line a bit - PU -
1995 micra running problem. 12 Apr 2007 (Forum)
My 1995 1L nissan micra normally runs fine but occasionally when I slow down to a junction it looses all power, judders and stops unless I rev it excessivly and drive it hard for a while and then it goes back to normal.
