Megane 1997, inoperative plip. 20 Jun 2005 (Forum)
Am posting this for a friend who hasn't got internet access. He had the same problem a few months ago & called out the AA. AA man contacted Renault who explained the re-programming procedure & the plip worked again for a few months. It has failed in the same way again. He contacted Renault Customer Service expecting to get the same info they provided to the AA but was told he had to take the car to his local dealer ship for a chargeable re-program. -
Exemplary garage service 11 Oct 2004 (Forum)
So what about turning it on its head and let's hear about exemplary service you have received, beyond the normal call of duty. I'll start the ball rolling - had to think hard about this one but in the end a Renault garage has to be my choice. We once had a new Renault and quite soon after taking delivery something odd happened to the brakes. We phoned the garage on a Saturday and explaining that we needed the car on the Monday, they sent a mechanic around on the SUNDAY! -

Stolen when in for warranty work! 3 Sep 2003 (Forum)
Hi, This is an ongoing story, so I won't name any names - yet. My mother bought a one year old Renault Scenic after many years of driving old heaps. Unfortunately, the car had a small problem with the rear wiper which required warranty work at another Renault dealer. So, here's the bad news. After the work had been done and the car was being cleaned for collection, a canny thief got into the car - keys in the ignition - and drove off! -
Keyless Cars 7 Mar 2003 (Forum)
I had a look at the new Renault Megane the other day and was taken with the concept of the credit card thingy that is available on the top spec models and as an option on the others at a cost of £250. This is a step up from the normal keycard as found on current Renaults. -

Renault Megane,Toyota Avensis,Mazda 3- all saloons - Which 08 saloon? 6 Jan 2013 (Forum)
Engineer Andy has given me a lot of help with the Mazda 3 saloon and I would value any further feedback comparing the Renault Megane 1.6, Toyota Avensis 1.8 and Mazda 3 1.6 saloons, all 08 moidels, to guide me to which would be the one to go for. Comfort and quiet driving are important as is a good radio/cd speaker combination and ease of getting into and out of the car - my Megane seats are very low - probably due to age. -
Renault Megane - Car not as ordered 24 Oct 2011 (Forum)
The dealer test car had the previous 1.5dci engine which although producing higher emissions also had a much better torque curve and produced the torque from lower down the rev range, whereas the car they supplied us with has renaults new eco2 engine which has totally different characteristics and torque etc. As far as I'm concerned the car is not as ordered therefore subject to SOGA and I should be able to reject it however the supplying dealership won't hear of it, Renault uk are just as useless and also Motability don't want to know ( yes it is leased through motability ). -
Renault Scenic (2003 - 2009) - 06 1.6 radio fault 25 Jan 2011 (Forum)
The clock/temp display being always on is another sign of the fault. We have been told that we can have a new radio fitted by Renault but as there is a back log of cars needing this then we have to disconnect the power supply from the back of the radio to stop it draining the battery until it is replaced (which may be a week or two). -
Renault Clio (1998 R) Alarm problem 21 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Hello all, Immediately I'm sure seeing Renault Clio, and Alarm and problem, there must be the rolling of eyes somewhere, but still... I recently acquired an R Reg Renault Clio RXE, which has a standard fit immobiliser and alarm, and now on its first day of service, while travelling on a fast A road a mysterious beeping started and I noted an indicator light on - I presumed that I'd failed to cancel my turn signal when I'd come round a roundabout, but on turning off said A road matters got worse - the alarm went off, while I was in the car, while I was driving - clearly this is not a happy or particularly safe experience. -
Clio 3 1 Nov 2005 (Forum)
The steering was nice and positve, not over assisted and the ride/handling impressed. I believe it's a version of the Megane chassis underneath. There were the usual toys that Renault like to provide, such as the keyless entry. So what didn't we like? Well the gearbox felt a bit notchy but then my experience of Renaults is that they need a while to bed in. Also we're divided on the styling, it's a tidy development of the previous Clio but nothing dramatic. -
Att HJ - Miganes and Scinics ???? 24 Nov 2004 (Forum)
Yes, Miganes and Scinics! In this week's HJ Telegraph column on the net, you refer to the Renaults as such... Silly question: why?
