Axon shows plug-in hybrid electric vehicle at the Milton Keynes Science Festival 27 Oct 2009 (News)
“We have had our greenhouse gas emissions calculated to include typical UK powerstation emissions when driving in electric mode. The result gives us just under 50g/CO 2 per km for the mix of electric and petrol used in the Government test. This is just half the level needed for free annual road tax in UK for this car,” (band ‘A’ is below 100g/CO 2 per km = zero road tax in the UK). -

Bedford OB Nostalgia Event at the Vauxhall Heritage Centre 13 Jul 2009 (News)
As well as the OB gathering, owners of all Bedfords and other historic commercial vehicles are invited to attend, while there will be a specially reserved parking area for owners of any classic vehicle, be it a bike, car, van, lorry or – of course – bus. Owners are encouraged to simply ‘drop-in and drive’ – there’s no fixed time in which vehicles need to be on display, and the Vauxhall Heritage Centre, accessed via the GM UK staff car park entrance in Park Street, will be open from 10am until 4.30pm on 16th August, so they can stay for as long, or as short a time as they wish. -
Suzuki Sells 2,100 on Scrappage 10 Jun 2009 (News)
More than 2,100 confirmed orders have been taken since launch on May 18th as car buyers realise that leaving their old car behind and driving away in a new Suzuki Alto can be theirs from just £4,795 – a saving of £2,000 on today’s price and £1,850 less than a new Alto cost back in June 1999. Kia cee'd tops Class in Driver Power Survey 18 Apr 2009 (News)
The independent annual Driver Power survey was carried out by Auto Express, in conjunction with the Daily Telegraph, and measured the views of over 21,400 new car drivers across the UK. The cars they drive are scrutinised and scored on their performance in a number of key areas, including practicality, build quality, reliability, and running costs. The Kia dealer network was also under scrutiny and, amongst others, was measured on helpfulness and attitude, standard of workmanship and value for money. -

Bidding for a distinctly dodgy 91k unwarranted 93L Nissan 300ZX twin turbo targa auto ran out of steam at £3,950. But surprise of the day had to be a 33k 2000V Honda HRV two wheel drive base model with a cracked windscreen that started at £5,500 then went on to sell for all of £7,000. Monday at Blackbushe has Citroen UK, Bank of Scotland and Lex Leasing fleet sales, plus part-exchanges from Inchcape, New Way Nissan, Fox Garage, Reg Vardy, Hartwells and Pendragon. -
Rover Launches BIK Tax Beaters 18 Jul 2002 (News)
Prototypes have been thoroughly tested in Australia and USA, with the opposite extremes being covered in Canada. The torque allows the higher 3.9:1 final drive of the 2.5litre to be used, giving 22.6mph per 1,000rpm in 5th and a 130mph top speed for the saloon. Official combined consumption is 35.3mpg. The new 1.8T power unit is available from launch with a 5-speed manual transmission in both Saloon and Tourer body styles. -

There are reports of stereo systems going quiet periodically, with no one having yet found a fix for this. Be sure to test the radio on a test drive/ Some Vivaros have had issues with their headlights coming on, or not switching off properly. This is a software issue, which should be able to be fixed by plugging it into a Vauxhall diagnostics machine. -
