  • Mondeo Cruise Control Recall 29 Aug 2001 (News)
    5,500 2001 model year Mondeos fitted with cruise control and built October 2000 to July 2001 have been recalled because water ingress can corrode the electrics leading to failure to switch off. No resultant accidents reported as yet, but all owners of 2001MY Mondeos fitted with cruise control should not use it until the system has been checked and replaced if necessary.

  • Toyota announces Prius recall: 30,000 cars affected 12 Feb 2014 (News)
    The boost converter is required when driving with a high system load, for example when accelerating hard from standstill. Toyota has said that the software setting could lead to higher thermal stress occurring in certain insulated-gate bipolar transistors in the boost converter which may lead to them deforming or being damaged. Should this happen, warning lights may be illuminated and the car is likely to switch to “failsafe” operation – it can still be driven, but with reduced power.
