Clio problems 29 Mar 2007 (Forum)
I'm a bit worried something is about to fall off somewhere! Please does anyone have any advice on what the problem might be? It's an automatic car if that makes any difference. Many thanks in advance. Regards, -
Zafira 1.8 auto gearbox oil (2002) 16 Oct 2006 (Forum)
While pricing some bits for my cam belt change I thought I would get some automatic transmission oil for my Zafira 1.8 with a AF17 gearbox ? Haynes manual and a friends VX tis cd (2003) says it should be VX part No. 09 117 946 but having been down to the VX dealers they say it should be Dexron11 and VX part No 90350342. -
Oil change? 16 Jul 2006 (Forum)
I'm no mechanic, but I do know that on diesels, frequent oil changes are one of the most crucial parts of maintenance, and although this car is petol-engined, I'm wondering if it'd be wiser to get an oil-change now. (As an automatic, it often seems to be doing only 1500 RPM, which feels a bit on the low side, and there are airly frequent 5-6,000 RPMS burts on kickdown, tho both are interspersed with long bouts of 2000-3000 on the motorways). -
2-litre Laguna auto freebie 5 Jul 2006 (Forum)
SiL's Volvo 340 has burst its radiator, and a rich friend with lots of motors has offered him a 94 2-litre Laguna automatic for nothing. The car is said to be in good condition and has a new autobox less than a year old. Mileage is said to be low, about 5k a year average. It's a specced-up model with leather. My feeling is that since it's free he might as well give it a try. -
MB 320 - new GB but not finding gears 2 Jun 2006 (Forum)
hi there - i've got a high mileage 320 and have recently had a new automatic gearbox put in as the old one was making a horrific noise. However, I've had this symptom existing before the change and it still happens now : 1. whilst driving along, and after no specific journey time, when I go to accelerate or decelerate I get neutral. -
Ford fiesta Bioethanol conversion 27 Apr 2006 (Forum)
It also seems that some modification to the injector pulse widths is necessary, but i'm unsure as to whether this would be dealt with automatically by the closed-loop control of the engine management? The reason i ask is that i have a crazy idea to convert my mk3 fiesta 1.1 CFI to run on bioethanol. Does anyone out there have any experience of bioethanol conversion or know of any third-party conversion kits? -
1998 VW Passat TDi poor performance 3 Nov 2005 (Forum)
My automatic tdi Passat performs very poorly when overtaking or going up long, steep hills, it's OK on the flat and mild inclines, but gutless when the going gets really tough! It's as though the turbo isn't working, how does one know if it's working? -

How do I remove wheel wash marks 3 May 2005 (Forum)
I hate car automatic car washes. The wheel wash brushes decided to position themeselves halfway down the car instead of on the wheels. Result... two circular wax rings about 6 inches in diameter left on the paintwork. -

Computer related questions. Volume 43 14 Feb 2005 (Forum)
Firefox is my default browser which as many will know has Google as the built in search engine. Perhaps unreasonably, it annoys me considerably that when searching Google, I am automatically connected to google. es . I know that Google's own preferences may be set to search for reults in a particular language, but very often I want to search google.com .I guess the language option is set by a cookie, but I regularly clean out cookies as a matter of habit. -
SoftRoader 4x4 's 14 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Comfort for 15k miles per year including commutes of up to 1000 miles on a weekly basis, but average of 250 miles per week. Reliability - This will be a self purchase to last 4+ years Automatic gears. No people carriers - we do not need 7 seats, but do need a big boot. We have looked at the new Honda CRV, and the Mitsi Pinin. The Isuzu Trooper is too thirsty, and Freelander .... well.. erm not quite right. -

Problem 125cc scooter (4 stroke) 16 Aug 2004 (Forum)
I have three problems with a brand new 125cc Scooter (4 stroke) with automatic CVT transmission which I hope someone can help me with. The first problem is that on one occasion, the engine stalled when turning into a junction. This happened when the engine was completely warm and it was raining. -
Auto. transmission problem on BMW. 25 Jul 2004 (Forum)
After jump starting on my BMW P-reg having not driven it for 3 weeks, the shift electronics for automatic transmission (telltale lamp for electronic shift control) light comes on. Looking at the manual it says: \"This should go out when the engine is started. - If the lamp does not go out or - If it comes on during a journey, there is a fault in the electronic shift control or transmission.\" Without starting the engine, the light goes out, but comes on when the engine is running. -
Fuel pump auto delivery & cut off 13 Apr 2004 (Forum)
Yet the other day using an HGV pump in UK realised that this pump had the necessary "thingumajig" device so the pump could be set and left running while I wandered around cleaning lights etc until the fuel flow shut off automatically. Any logical reason? FiF -

If I purchased a nearly-new DIESEL / MANUAL car (approx 1-2 years old) would it be easy / is it possible to have it changed to an automatic.? I have been trying to locate another Diesel / Auto car and its like trying to find pink furry dice ..... Have got an Omega TURBO DIESEL AUTO but she finds it too big & heavy to drive so will be forced into selling, although I like the car, but my opinions DONT count!
