93 1.0 - headlight replacement - Servelan

I need to change the off side head light on elder daughters Micra. We have a spare headlight so I can see where the fixings are. However, I can get to the top fixings on the car easily, but how do I get to the bottom fixings under the grille? Does the grill need to be removed, if it does, how is it removed?
Any advice gratefully received!

On pre 1998 models the grille needs to removed.
Release the 2 mounting clips each side by twisting them through 45 deg. and pressing them out from behind.
Release the central clip by pressing it down with a screwdriver, then withdraw the grille.
