got a horrible dull thumping noise that comes from the o/s rear every time i go over a bump or pot hole ,it sounds like i have something heavy in the boot moving about .ive looked underneath and there is nowt loose?? your veiws please

Just a thought possible damper/is the spare wheel stored inside and secure?

Could be many things, but one thing Vectra Estates are known for is the roof cross members (between the outer roof skin and the innner lining) working loose. When this happens, they can both rattle and thump, and the sound can be transmitted through the body shell so it appears to be from somewhere else. Just a thought.

Had the same thumping noise on mine. I found it was the rear anti-roll bar bushes, not the links. Takes about 15 mins each side, bush is about £3 IIRC. The noise from the roof is quite different.

That's assuming your suspension bushes are OK of course!
