I just followed the link in the Auction report on the right and had a look at the results page for Brightwells. Some seriously cheap 4x4s but no indication of the quality of the vehicles.
Has anyone here been to Brightwells? Any comment on the general condition of vehicles passing through there?

Did I miss something ? How do you know they're cheap ?

Thanks Quinny. Gave up trying to post a similar response from my cattle truck on the Metropolitan line and had to wait until I got home.

Not sure I would want to part with that much money for a 150k Audi with air suspension.

Less a case of bangernomics and more a case of ruination I would suspect. Who wants to bet this ends up towing a burger stall?

I purchased a Late 1994 Discovery 3.9 V8i from Brightwells last year for £4,300.
I live in Leominster so it was particularly usefull to me.
It was my first time at an auction and any questions I had were readily answered.
I had done my homework before going and knew what vehicles that were in the auction I wanted to see and also what price I was prepared to pay. It's useful to look through the previous auction results to see what prices the kind of vehicle you are looking at has gone for in the past. I guess it's all down to what someone prepared to pay on the day. The vehicles I particularly went to see all went way above what I expected.
The vehicle I ended up with was not described correctly in the catalogue as I was particularly after a ES model with air-con etc. So when this ES model turned up (admitedly with no history) and the bidding dropped down to £4,000 I had to join in.
It has been a very reliable vehicle and I have had it converted to LPG. I even rang the previous owner to find out any history which I was able to do.
Sorry for the long winded reply but I would certainly recommend them to anyone.
