I am looking at buying a second hand Clio around 2 years old, There around 4 that i am interested in with 3 been sold by the Renault retail group, 2 of those are Demo company cars one in Cardiff and the other in Bristol and they are offering the lowest trade in price for my Clio that i bought Pre Reg in 2017 from Renault retail Bolton. which is the 1.5 Diesel in Mars red. After sending lots of photos , Bristol have offered me £4300 and Cardiff have offered £3000.

I have looked at We buy any car, There top price is £4800 and Carwow are saying that they can sell my car for £5600. I have never looked into Carwow and unsure how it works, But reading a couple of reviews, Buyers have gone to pick up the car from the seller and picking faults and lowering the price of the car.... That sounds like a good result ?? Motorway seems to be working well for a lot of people at the moment — quick offers, competitive bidding, and smooth collection. The late high bid makes sense if the buyer already had someone lined up for the RS6; they’ll sometimes pay over the odds to secure it fast and flip it. Nice to hear it all went hassle-free, especially given the value of the car. ????

Was going to write something after 6 months but I guess its now or never.

The review could be quite simple, its excellent and a worthy (but different) successor to the Superb PHEV. But to make the post worthwhile here is a bit of detail.... Read more

Do not intentionally run a Toyota hybrid that low on fuel, if it runs out completely you risk a very expensive repair bill involving a recovery wagon to the local Toyota main dealer & potentially waiting for the special HV battery charger which there is only 2 in the UK.

Also running the vehicle out of fuel can cause the hybrid system to shut down so adding more fuel from a can wont even revive it, it would require recovery to a Toyota main dealer....

I have been looking at buying Renault Clio 1.6 hybrid Techno , My Budget was £10,000 plus my own car which i bought in March 2017 as a Pre Reg 1.5 Diesel Clio for £11,000 and i have recently been offered £5000 by a company in Gates head call rubber duck car sales, So over the last 8.5 years, I have lost £6000 and this gave me £15,000 to spend on another Clio

I soon found out that i had to increase my budget to buy a decent car and i found a Renault Clio 1.6 hybrid Techno at £17.500 which was around a year old with 6000 on the clock. I decided to do a check on We buy any car would offer me if i had to sell the car and there offer was £14800 , So that's a drop of £2700 just leaving the forecourt and then over the next 12 months, The car would drop a further 10% at least , So the car will be worth £13300 with a total loss of over £4000 at least in a 12 month period.... Good afternoon everyone,

I am looking at 2nd gen (1999 to 2005) Suzuki Grand Vitaras, petrol and v6 auto only.

Apart from being quite old now, anything I should look out for with these? Weak points?

I plan to import from Japan so rust should not be an issue. On that topic, if anyone can recommend (or has comments) on a good importer, auction house in Japan or any aspects of the purchase and import process i’ll be very grateful.

Many thanks!

Best,

Thank you for your thorough reply BBD. I think on balance, if I lived near a major port it could be a bit easier to arrange things in persom, but I don’t so i will probably end up using an importer like the ones you suggest. If I am able I will post an update on the C a r 4 play forum in due course.

I have seen a few driving school vehicles being driving non professionally when its just one person in the car.

I've also had words with a RED driving instructor who thought it was ok to park opposite a T junction while he was given a lesson.

I purchased a new Renault Austral early 2024 on PCP. For the first year, other than a niggle with a fuel gauge issue, the car was amazing. Things changed a few days after the cars first service with the car having now broken down four times since then, in each case with the car being totally immobilised, and have resulted in the car being at the dealership for many months since January.

Three of the breakdowns have reported exactly the same error messages (Impossible Restart, Check Electrical System and 12v Battery Backup). After the second time this fault happened, I raised complaints with the dealership, Renault and the finance company. My initial thoughts were to get the vehicle replaced but after suffering a third case of the same fault I am at the point where I don't feel able to trust a vehicle with the same hybrid system so am pushing for a refund.... You have a choice.
1 Put up with the situation of paying for a a car that is unreliable and has broken down three times.
2 Find a solicitor who specialises in car claims, put your evidence to him/her and act on that advice as the car is more than 6 months old from new.

NB - Take a look at your house insurance - does it come with legal protection insurance?
Ours did and MOH successfully got a £40K redundancy payout that her employer was refusing her - it didn't cost us a bean in legal fees.
