Could you please advise me, is it safe to charge the 12v battery still connected at 1.5amps?
Always had older vehicles and had no problems doing it this way. Bearing in mind the polo is a 2022 model with a lot more electronics so wary if still safe. Reluctant to disconnect battery. Need to trickle charge as car may only be driven once a week.... Read more

It’s possible the buy the lock switch as a separate part , but it’s likely to be obsolete on a car this old ., it’s fitted to the door latch .

If the noise stops when you press the clutch, that’s often an indication of a dmf issue. You would be advised to get the clutch done at the same time as it’s the same amount of work. If the rest of the car is sound, I would think it’s worth it.

Remove the plastic scuttle panel at the base of the windscreen. It’s possible the wiper motor and linkage are water logged . The wiper arm swivel pins may be seized.
