  Can't imagine the offer will be reduced by more than a couple of hundred quid between now and January. What would others do? I've thought about this issue long and hard since buying the B Max and its taught me a great deal about the wisdom of doing research. I doubt whether I'd make a similar mistake again, and would most certainly take serious regard of any advice offered to me here in good faith.

  I promptly forgot about this for this year, of course the MOT tester this time wasn't prepared to fiddle around and try lots of times to get it through. So results: [code] Fast Idle RPM: 2598 Pass CO: 0.571 Fail (max 0.3) HC: 39 Pass Lambda: 0.988 Pass 2nd Fast Idle Test RPM: 2616 Pass CO: 0.504 Fail (max 0.3) HC: 32 Pass Lambda: 0.989 Pass Natural Idle test RPM: 704 Pass CO: 0.429 Pass (max 0.5) [/code] I watched as he tested, and the CO fluctuated in and out of the PASS zone each time a test was run at constant RPM.

  As mentioned in another thread I have been driving a C-Max 1.6 TDCi Zetec for a few days. Generally very easy to drive and impressively flexible for a 1.6 ltr diesel even five up though has a lot less ultimate urge than the 2.0. The electrically assisted steering is interesting, the Sport setting makes it feel responsive on the back roads though nervous in a straight line above 50 mph, the Standard setting is ideal though the Comfort setting would certainly help the elderly or slight with parking.

  I don't drive stupidly but would like the extra power on certain situations.  Initially looked at 2015 Mondeo but Powershift problems same with all cars using DSG autobox, then came across 2015 Mazda 6, auto box seems fine but 2.2 skyactiv engine has been awfully reviewed. BMW 320d.....not sure, seems timing chain issues and expensive to maintain.

  The Astra is fine, but didn't really appeal as much as the Fiat. They also had a Kia Ceed, 2015 1.4 petrol with 50k miles for around £6k but it was abit spartan compared to the others.   The water pump was replaced 20,000 miles ago when I did the timing belts, and the thermostat is a recent replacement (Genuine Ford item) which I did when this started happening. It's made no difference. For what it's worth there is a healthy looking flow of coolant from the return hose on the top of the expansion tank which gets stronger with revs.
