Big Historic Car Racing Event at Castle Combe This Weekend 2 Oct 2012 (News)
In the 'Invitation' class are four drivers from the Nissan Playstation GT Academy in their 370Zs, up against Josh Smith from Weston Super Mare in his Radical PR6. The task facing Saltford's Steven Jensen to take the circuit's Formula Ford 1600 championship is a difficult but not impossible one. Bratton's Ben Norton already has an effective lead of 18 points after dropped scores are taken into account, so only needs to pick up 3 points should Jensen win the race. -

Hidden Heroes: Fiat Bravo HGT 10 May 2019 (News)
Indeed, in a contemporary Performance Car road test, it was even beaten by the Ford Escort GTi, though that’s one we find particularly hard to understand. Yet today, the Bravo HGT is a car whose classic credentials are right up there. Not only does it look like no other hatchback of its era, but it’s mechanically interesting, too. -
Hidden Heroes: SEAT Toledo V5 5 Apr 2019 (News)
. Powered by a 2.3-litre engine developed for the Volkswagen Golf, the unusual configuration gave the Toledo a lovely, warbly exhaust note, along with a respectably decent turn of pace; 0-60 in 8.3 seconds and a top speed of 140mph weren’t to be sniffed at, but then, this was a car with a lively 170bhp on tap. Imagine that - the same power output as a Ford Focus ST170 packaged into a car that looked like something you’d hail outside the kebab shop on a Saturday night. It was a fairly well-sorted driver’s car, too. -

Group 5 monsters set for Goodwood Members’ Meeting 8 Jan 2016 (News)
Under the regulations at the time, prototype racers were limited to 3.0-litre engines, but ‘production’ cars – of which at least 25 examples had to be built – were allowed to use 5.0-litre units. This loophole was included to allow cars like the Ford GT40 to continue racing but, against the expectations of the governing body, manufacturers exploited it, building production runs of what were, in effect, full-blown prototypes with 5.0-litre engines. -
