New Peugeot Partner Totem From Just £8,300 9 Dec 2004 (News)
Peugoet had just announced a cut-price version of its Partner Combi from just £8,300 for the 1.4i and from £8,600 for the 1.9D from now until March 2005. Since these are list prices rather than discounts they are also the basis for company car driver BIK. For the money, it isn't short of equipment. This includes front fog lights, electric windows, central locking, driver and passenger airbag (which can be deactivated to allow the fitment of a child safety seat), electric passenger exterior mirror and radio/mono CD player. -

Silverstone to mark 70 years of Grand Prix heritage 19 Jun 2018 (News)
Juan-Manuel Fangio, Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, James Hunt, Nigel Mansell, Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and – most recently with four consecutive triumphs – Lewis Hamilton have all won the prized British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The Pre- ‘66 Grand Prix Cars features a 50+ car grid of front-engined F1 cars from the 1950s as well as a thegame-changing rear-engined racers from the first half of the 1960s. And the jewel in the crown - the pair of FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship - recreate F1’s golden age of DFV cars (1966 to 1985) complete with period livery. -

(The owner has MS and reached a point last year where she could no longer operate the foot pedals). The MoT and car tax expired at the end of July last year and it has been stored on grass since then (I believe the engine has been turned over monthly since then). I had a look at it at the weekend and started it with jump leads; the front discs looked rusty and the front tyres looked like they could do with replacing. -

Government criticised for scrapping plug-in car grant 12 Oct 2018 (News)
The Government is facing criticism from the automotive industry for its decision to scrap the plug-in hybrid car grant. From 9 November, only plug-in cars that can cover 70 miles on electricity will qualify for the grant, effectively ending the Government-funded discount for all plug-in hybrids currently on sale in the UK. Pure electric cars will also get less public money, with the grant cut from £4500 to £3500. -

1967 Lotus Elan SE FHC to Feature in H&H Classic Auction 21 May 2014 (News)
The SE, ‘Special Equipment’ model has the desirable standard spec of a close-ratio gearbox, knock-on steel wheels, servoed brakes and a more highly tuned Lotus twin-cam engine. The vendor, who has owned the car twice in its life, first in 1978, and then from 2007 to date, states that much work has been done to keep the car in tip-top condition. Since an extensive refurbishment by marque expert Peter Day in the 1990s, which included fitting a new, galvanised chassis, it has covered just 19,479 miles. -

First production Triumph TR5 to go under the hammer 10 Apr 2018 (News)
Here was a 150bhp 2.5-litre straight-six that Triumph claimed made the TR5 the first production sports car with fuel injection, which helped it to a top speed of 125mph. Standard equipment included front disc brakes, all-independent suspension, rack-and-pinion steering and a four-speed gearbox. Only 2947 were built in total, of which only 1161 were in RHD for the British market. -
