  (Thinking about residuals, running costs, etc) Both are from non-franchised dealers. 1. 2003 03 BMW 318SE Touring. 42000m, FBMWSH, £13799 2. 2003 53 Audi A3 (new shape) 1.6 Sport, 19500m, FASH, £13995 I could put up with the two doors in the Audi and both still have over a years warranty left. I'm all of a dither.......

  What does the BR think of this data? Realistic, reliable? I'm about to start looking at a replacement for the 8yr old Audi and at face value it looks like just what I need to help me decide between sticking with older prestige models that although the depreciation is much lower, run the risk of a big repair bill (as I've just had with the Audi) or putting my motoring budget more towards funding depreciation on a much newer used car but having the protection of a car still with a good chunk of warranty and lower probability of hefty repairs.

  I have bought a secondhand VW cd changer to fint in my Audi A3. My A3 has the factory fitted lead int othe bot compartment which has a round plug on the end. The VW CD Changer which i believe to be identical to the audi unit has a rectangular plug on the end of the lead.

  Has anybody ever dealt with these ? Their patter appears good - they don't take any cash as apparently they order from any Audi dealer so my contract is with the dealer. Seems like I can't lose but I am a little cautious !

  It has averaged 15000 miles per year & is 1 owner with FASH. I obtained service history printout from audi servicing dealer which itemises Cylinder Head and Cambelt jobs done at exactly same mileage last year at cost of £1100. Should I be wary / walk away or look on the positive side that these items have been sorted recently by an audi dealer.

  I recently had an Audi A3 1.6 as a courtesy car when my Audi 80 S2 was in being looked at. I was amazed at how light the clutch was and also how smooth the gears changed. It was a joy to drive. When I went to collect my car, I found it difficult to drive as the clutch was so heavy.

  Can I get a repair kit for this? Audi say no, and so does my local 'specialist' parts supplier (well known chaps in Slough). If I can get a kit, I'll strip it down and take a look. Any advice gratefully received. Martin.

  Unfortunately the E has now been removed from my list so although I wasn’t that keen, I decided to drive an Audi as a comparison to the BMW 5 series. My ‘anti’ Audi stance stems from a new 2004 A4 Sport I had in the past. The suspension on that car was rock hard and I hated the car because of it. From what I have read, Audi S Lines and very hard suspension go hand in hand together so I have never considered them.

  I wanted to go Petrol due to short journeys, so that excluded others like the X1 and Sportage. Basically came down to the Mokka X 1.4T Elite or the Audi Q3 1.4TFSi Sport. Mrs 72 dudes liked the Mokka interior with the heated leather seats, but I felt it was dull to drive. The Audi Q3 on the other hand was very impressive, both loved it. Same engine as that in Skidpan's forthcoming Superb.

  The garage report stated the oil/air filters were heavily contaminated with soot. The vehicle was last serviced by Audi in October 2011. Since that date the vehicle had only covered 15k, (1k in the time I owned it). I have since received a reply from the garage stating they won't give me a penny as I didn't inform them of the damage at the time, ( I didn't because the vehicle was out of warranty and didn't believe the damage was attrubuted to them).

  Car is now at 100,000 miles but this fault has been there since 20,000 although it now happens more frequently. Audi main dealer has done 5 hours of diagnostics and 'in depth' checks but can't find any problem and I've been advised to 'monitor'. Maybe they don’t believe me but it's a bit un-nerving driving at motorway speeds with this light on.

  She drives no more than 10k per year, short local trips, with a few longer motorway trips over the year. Now obviously I know she doesn?t need a 2.0 Audi diesel for this and that she could buy 2 ceeds/foci/golf(well 1.5 Golfs) etc that will do exactly the same thing as the Audi for the same money. But to be far, it looks nice on the drive, its her money and she likes it, so I don?

  - VW Passat, ~40k miles, ~54 reg fewer miles again, VAG reliability... I'm hoping it has a similar refinement (comfort & noise insulation) to the Audi but expecting it to have a less sporty drive, might even have some money left over from my 8k... what would you go for? and why? Is there an alternative you'd recommend instead?
• Audi TT Coupe - Why is my coolant tank still boiling and losing? 7 Jul 2011 (Forum)
  week later, the boiling starts again and coolant is being lost to below minimum. Had to top it up. Took it back to the garage, an Audi specialist, they cant look at it until the Dash pod is fixed as the dials and guages are out (Eg constantly in the red an petrol warning when half full!!) which Audi UK have very kindly offered to fix and replace free of charge.
