  • Used Car Warranty 2 Feb 2014 (Forum)
Hi, I will shortly be in the market for buying a two or three year old Mazda 2 for my daughter. Having checked out some of the local garages, including a couple of main dealers, they all seem to offer a 3 year RAC warranty with the car. This is all well and good. But should I also expect to get a more comprehensive 6 month or 1 year dealers warranty as well.
  • Any - Reasonable economy petrols 14 Jan 2012 (Forum)
I'm after 40mpg+ on longer journeys.  Most of the time cruise will be on at 65-70mph My current mazda 6 (2 litre MZR) does around 38-40 (highest being 42) in the above circumstance. Any suggestions?

  • Peugeot 407 - Seat comfort in family car 14 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I cannot find a new car that combines reasonable rear legroom with comfortable enough seats for the adults in the front. The skoda superb and mazda 6 are too firm, the skoda has uncomfortable ridged edges on the front seats. Why is there a move to this kind of firm seating? I'm going to buy my 407 and wait to see if the new 508 has retained some French comfort!

  • £4000 family car? 14 Dec 2008 (Forum)
I am currently looking at Mondeo's but I'm worried they might be a bit too large? Also considered Mazda 6, but there aren't many around here (north east yorks).
  • Gap insurance 3 Dec 2007 (Forum)
Hi all Picked up my new Mazda 2 yesterday; a month late but very welcome. The dealer offered me a gap insurance policy, which i had never heard of before, and it was on a 'today and today only' basis. Now i am usually very cynical about these kind of deals; extended warranties etc. but this seemed a good deal; for a one off payment of £300 i got 3 years cover, so that in the event of theft or write off i would get the full purchase price of a new replacement.
  • Getting to Wembley 6 Aug 2007 (Forum)
Will probably be coming down the M40, would appreciate any advice on where to park, what to avoid. Cheers Lee (Still deliberating about the C4; most likely keeping the Mazda, will resurrect that thread when I get around to doing something with it) -- Biggedy biggedy bong

I'm currently awaiting replies to my emails and letter requesting an explanation for the delays. Can anyone please shed any light on whether there is a problem with Mazda UK deliveries? Or a problem with New Car Discount? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

  • Good Year - Bad Year 7 Jan 2005 (Forum)
Seems that all the well known brands are stagnant/declining, while the Japanese, Korean's and some quality/specialist brands are gaining a good slice of the market. Interesting figures of 2004: Kia up 57% Saab up 39% Mazda up 26% Mitsubishi up 24% Jaguar up 11% Citroen -10% Peugeot -9% Mercedes-Benz -12% MG -13% Rover -24%
  • RX8 alternatives 22 Mar 2004 (Forum)
He will mainly be using the car for his ½ mile journey to college, and for his part time job delivering Pizzas, so the Mazda RX8 is obviously not suitable. This narrows the choice down to a Peugeot 206cc, Peugeot 306cc, Chateram 7, Masda MX5, MG TF, or Morgan 4/4. Which would be the more suitable? Insurance is not a problem, as we will be insuring the car in his Grandmothers name, and adding him as a named driver.
  • Mondewoe going, PCP for the replacement? 8 Mar 2004 (Forum)
After a lot of searching I have got a Primera 2.2cDi SE 5 door quote at 12000 miles per year for 2 years or 3 years inclusive of vat etc but not maintenance for £230. This seems to be very good. I know its not the Mazda but the 6,s come out at a lot more as does the Avensis. If anyone can recommend a leasing company to try I would be most gratefull. Bill

  • ageing space wagon 16 Jan 2003 (Forum)
My Mitsubishi Space wagon (2.0L Auto)is now 7 1/2 years old and well used. At 106,000 on the clock I have been thinking about changing it (for a Mazda 6 estate or another Space Wagon) but I read in the Honest John review of the older Space wagons that they were good for 300,000. Its been regularly serviced by a Mitsubishi garage.....any thoughts on the longer term reliability of this car.I cant afford to have a car that breaks down as it has to do long journeys abroad with its less than fit driver!

  • Suzuki Vitara 1.4 - All wheel drive 20 Apr 2023 (Forum)
Prices remain high with 3-4 year old models costing around £15k which was what I paid for my 2018 Golf at a year old. Hard to come to terms with especially as her current Mazda 3 is OK albeit a bit gutless on hills.
  • Family car recommendation 5-7k 29 Jul 2021 (Forum)
Something reliable as I plan on keeping for a long time. Options i've thought about: Mazda 6 estate 2.0 petrol (Don't think the saloon would work for us) Toyota avensis 1.8 estate (but do these have oil burning problems?) Civic estate. What are the 1.6 diesels like as these are a lot more common than the petrol.
