  Lexus Introduces New IS300 Range 21 Feb 2001 (News)
  Lexus has finally filled the gap under the bonnet of its good looking, sporty IS200 by installing the 210bhp, 213 lb ft torque 3.0 litre VVT-I engine from its GS300. Complementing the new engine will be a 5-speed E-Shift automatic gearbox with manual push button controls on the steering wheel. As well as the saloon, Lexus has taken the opportunity to introduce a sports estate version of the IS300 to be known as the SportCross (see picture).

Transmission options are a 5-speed manual with floorshift or Honda's Grade Logic 4-speed automatic with dashboard mounted shift lever. A centre clutch in the drive-train leaves the car in front-wheel-drive except when slip is detected at the front and four-wheel-drive is automatically engaged.

A well specced-up 106,000 mile 97P BMW 740i hit the buffers at £12,500.

  Fords stayed level with £7,925 bid for a 30,000 mile Focus 1.8iLX and £9,300 to £9,375 bid for a threesome of 12,000 mile 2000W Mondeo 2.0 Ghia X automatics with leather. A section of very saleable ex-bodyshop courtesy car 99T Micra Profile 3-doors with power steering sold for between £3,600 and £4,325, depending on mileage which ranged from 10,000 to 30,000 and colours which were either red, white of silver.
