  • Back pain re: VW seats! 21 Jan 2002 (Forum)
I have seen an osteopath and I have realised it is the car seats in the front being very hard and badly shaped in my opinion. Volkswagen just didn't want to know saying the seats were firm in all VW's. We are now selling the Polo back to Volkswagen on Tuesday. We are buying a second hand Renault Clio, we had one for seven years previously with no problems, what a mistake I made!

  • Passat W8 23 Mar 2002 (Forum)
Amongst the guff at the start on how the engine is made smoother, they apparently use new devices called Lancaster shafts. As i recall, they are called Lanchester shafts and rather than smoothing down any Volkswagen, Lancasters in fact stirred the whole factory up (ahem!)
  • Volkswagen Golf IV Tdi - Battery Drain 16 Aug 2011 (Forum)
When I put in ignition the hazzard switch starts making the noise randomly and constantly as if it was switched on. The Oil sensor workshop warning light comes as well and then goes away.  At Volkswagen they came after expensive diagnose checks to tell me the following issues: -Starter Motor lock up and smoking.  FIXED. -Positive Lead from battery to startermotor over heated and fraying.Earth lead from battery to gearbox corroded. new wiring required.

  • VW Assist 9 May 2003 (Forum)
Anyone have any experience of Volkswagen Assist? My AA membership is up for renewal but as they have recently left me high and dry, and as I have VW Assist with my new car, I was thinking of dumping them. The thing is, I know of the AA but have never used VW Assist in my 6 years as a new VW owner.
