The cost is £70 each but that's not all. Rather like a key the TPI has to be coded to the car and the Peugeot garage say that would be a minimum charge of £40 Of course we all know that the actual job will be 35 seconds - connect a lead, press a couple of buttons and job done, but apparently the software is only available to Peugeot dealers so - once again - it's a captive market If you dont have it done then every journey starts with a warning that there is a TPI missing. -

Hi guys, The engine on my 306 died. I took it to a garage whom quoted £1500 to change it......... So, I looked around and found a peugeot breaker in norfolk, I phoned the guy who was confident from the chassis number that they had an engine the same, so i ordered it and it came today. The guy that is fitting it phoned me to say it is different, I haven't seen it yet but he says the main of it is the same and something about the ignition is different? -

Hi just wondered if anyone had any views on car pricing. I'm trying to sell my Peugeot 306 Meridian 1.6. .Parkers value it about £1900, The wisebuyers guide price is £1330!. Autotrader values are all over the place with some dealer cars cheaper than private sales...going rate seems to be anything between £1300 and £2850 One owner + supplying dealer from new 3 keys, radio code and Peugeot security card 89k miles with book stamped up to 60k then reciepts from independent after No faults except outside temperature gauge reads - - - -.Working air con! -

Alternatively, are there any basic tests I can do to check whether the fault is in the transmitter or alarm? Does it have to go back to a Peugeot dealer (at great expense) to have it rectified or could a local specialist or auto electrician do the job? At least I am learning a lot about Peugeot problems -
