  I have been on the X-Trail group on Yahoo and there are some folks who are also experiencing similar problems with their vehicles so it appears this may be a common fault, once again! Nissan Finance have tried the bully boy tactics already claiming that it's extremely difficult to seek refunds on new vehicles and that we will need a solicitor. They had a good laugh down the phone about this.

  When reversing uphill I get an awful groaning sort of noise which begins as the clutch engages and continues until I reduce throttle or press the clutch again. Initially Nissan had the car in and changed an upper engine mount which did nothing as expected. Now they are saying it is a characteristic of the car ??? Clutch is also smelling pretty bad, but apparently that's normal too ???

  Hello:   I really need help with this.  I have this Nissan almera 2005 SE hatchback. It makes weird growling or groaning noise I take off from the dead stop. Noise goes away after car gets hot.  I thought it's my clutch but my clutch is working fine and this sound comes only when I press mild gas on while holding the clutch on the biting point.

  I have a Nissan almera 55 reg, with i believe the N16 key fob. It started giving me problems unlocking the car remotely, so i changed the battery and went through the re-programming of the key fob. This is what happened.

  As a third-year student approaching the end of Uni, i'm now looking for a motor when I get back home (passed test around 3 years ago, but haven't driven since). I've always fancied something a bit different, and I quite like the look of the Nissan 100NX 1.6. Not that many left, but from reading several reviews they seem reliable, sturdy, and quite interesting to look at . . Naturally insurance IS NOT the best (approx. £2,000 Fully comp) but the cost to buy is pennies (a few good examples not far from me on Autotrader, £795 122k and £1,695 68k).

However, I need a second opinion on the service history. It was sold as having Full Service History, but when I went to pick it up there was no service book with it.

  I have Nissan Micra 1.0L - 52 plate since a year. From last few days it is giving problem of not starting up. When I start car from cold it starts up with normal engine noice. It runs for few miles and stalls at some point when engine RPM is less.

  Hi folks, can anyone help with a query I have about reprogamming a key fob for a Nissan Almera. A couple of weeks back my key fob started playing up, only working intermittently and the buttons were pretty worn. My spare didn't work at all so I bought a reconditioned key fob from eBay and attached the blade from my intermittently-working key fob.

  The dealer is not charging full price for the part and is not charging me labour on it, but the whole shebang is costing about £1700 in total. How is it that Nissan has not issued a recall on its cars as the intercooler seems to be a general problem; and surely a clutch on a manul transmission car should last longer than 48,000 miles? If the design is the problem, why use this design?

  hi, i have a nissan primera 2l 16v se+ 1999, the other week the engine management light came on but the car run fine, so the other day i had it put on a computer to find out what was wrong, it came back with bank 1 lambda sensor down (was told this was the 1 on the top of the manifold) so drivin around yest to see if i could find 1, as i was driving around it started playing up and wouldnt rev over 4k rpm and was abit spluttery, then it dropped down to 2k rpm and struggled to get up over a small bridge, i managed to get the car home and today i brought a universal 3 wire lambda sensor and fitted it, but the engine management light still on and it still not running right, i started the car and it ticked over on around the 1k rpm but when reved spluttered up to around 2k and then dropped just below 1k rpm and was verry spluttery thanks dave Moved to technical

  My folks purchased a new Nissan Micra Tekna 1240cc Automatic (on a 59 plate) late least year with a scrappage offer (despite now seeing their old car on the road since). However, their insurance now needs renewal and their existing company seems expensive.

  The Nissan Note 1.4 is not a noisy car but I want to improve the interior in this respect. I am technical and understand that an increase in noise power of 3dB indicates a doubling of noise power (which is just about perceived by the logarithmic ear) and that an increase of 10dB gives a perception of a doubling of "noise".

  Hi there, I have a nissan sunny glx 1.6, not too sure of the year but the reg is e814 *** and i have a problem with the headlights. (That'll be 1987 to 1988 then - removed part of the reg No) The headlight on the passenger side does not work at all even though i have changed the bulb plus when i put the headlights on full beam it sometimes doesn't work on both sides.

  can anyone help with a problem our nissan micra 2002 1.0 auto has developed. it starts no problem and like normal when getting warm it holds itself in a lower gear to keep the revs high to warm up faster. but unlike normal when it is at normal temp it just wants to keep reving at higher revs. example if at 30mph its at 1400 revs for no reason it jumps upto 2000revs and still doing 30mph and more often than not will not engage final drive ( 5th gear ). now i know to chech the level of gear oil which i did. and it was not pink so i have changed the oil and its not pink but still i have this problem. if i was a betting man id say if this was my twist n go scooter that the belt is slipping and thus not moving the variator out far enough to engage its last gear postion. thanks for reading

  This particular 1996 4.2 petrol / LPG Nissan Patrol Auto had grinding brakes . Garage took the rear wheels off and discovered deeply scored discs ( the fronts were replaced by a different garage about 8 months ago ). This vehicle is a 3rd car and does about 3000 miles annually .

  What's my best way to diagnose the fault? I'm not a mechanic, but I can manage a basic service (better than nissan can judging by the loose, leaking oil filter I found), so any help much appreciated! Thanks, Matt
• Nissan Micra towbar 25 Nov 2003 (Forum)
  just trying to fit a towbar to a 1993 (K10) Nissan Micra and have found that the drop bar will not fit because it fouls the existing towhook on the car. I have contacted the towbar manufacturer and from our conversation I seemed to have done everything correctly and he states that there must be a problem with the car, he suggested that it may have suffered accident damage and the boot floor not pulled back correctly or the towhook has got bent.
